I have one more improvement but I think it will be very difficult to implement as it affects the equipment file. This is a map-dependent shooting range. The map designer should be able to describe the hex value in km or miles when preparing the map. So if one hex is e.g. 1 km, then the firing range for a 10.5 cm Kanone 18 cannon should be 19 hexes, but for a map where one hex is 5 km then the firing range is only 4 hexes. Naturally, for maps where 1 hex is 20 km, the gun range is 1 hex.

In McCuba Mod "Battlefield:Europe" Hex=45 km. 10.5 cm Kanone 18's Range = 4 (IIRC). So, its shoot at 4x45= 180 km ! From Vyazma to Moscow - 236 km. :shock:

That is the reason why I have changed all fire range because in example 80 cm Kanone 5 (Eisenbahn) fire range (at my scenario World at War 1941-45) is right now 3hexes while one hex is 25-33km. Maximum firing range 80 cm Kanone 5 (Eisenbahn) was 47,000 metres (51,000 yd) (HE) 38,000 metres (42,000 yd) (AP). I know it should be only two.

I think its a hard to make right solution for BIG Map Mods - only change a Range for Arty. :(

For big map it is easy, what about a small map where 1 hex is 1 or 2km?

On some smaller maps with rail guns they can shoot much further (i.e. several hexes), e.g. in France or Crimea.

I think the relative comparison to others arty units is also relevant...

Well.. Small maps (1-2 km/Hex) are not for PzC gameplay (game rules) (IMHO).

So, optimal for PzC gameplay (Battalion scale): Hex= 3-4 km.

So it should be reasonable to have few options like 3-4 hex, 5-8, 9-13, 14-20, 21-30, no more than 45. As you said one hex at BE is 45km so arty range should be smaller.

I do not know if this has been discussed elsewere,

Battlefield Europe to be offered as as standalone DLC for Panzer Corps!

Its going to be a great addition in the series. Lots of people will buy it!!

Back in the days, some people had also proposed to offer McGuba a full time job at the PzC developer / publisher team... not sure what happened to this though :mrgreen:

Hm.. that's intersting thanks, I have not read this topic yet. Well, thanks for your support it is really nice of you guys, but the fact is to the best of my knowledge I have not been offered a full time job at the PzC publisher/developer team. Unless this supposed offer ended up in the spam folder of my email provider for some reason... :roll: but I doubt it as I usually do get emails from real persons. And there are other ways to contact me for example PM messages here in this forum, so no, I do not know anything about that.

This is a theoretical question of course, it would depend on the conditions and not necessarily mainly on the financial conditions. Making mods for free provides almost unlimited creative freedom and I think it would be hard to give up a large chunk of this freedom so I would only do so if I can be sure that I the end product lives up to my standards.

That is exactly the most perfect answer that I would expect from someone who created such a master piece. One of the funny results of my screwed up recording of my voice on the latest broadcast. It brought forth the outstanding layered sound you have added to your mod. I love playing with the sound of battle always ringing in my ears. That was a brilliant touch. Not enough can be said to the care and detail you gave to each sound, graphic, picture and historicity that goes with every single unit on this map.

I love to sip it slowly when I am not broadcasting. I have looked closer at the details and extra awesomeness you have packed into this great work.
