Why not a Day-Night cycle?
I wonder why it's not implemented in the game, since there are the seasons are in the game, it would add more immersion and a lot of new gameplay features light night fighters and reduced sight and accuracy, and many others what are your toughts on it guys?

"Vyyy-Not???":
The Germans later in the war came up with "Infra-Red Night Vision"... at least for their armored ground vehicles... so then... this Night-Cycle could become very useful for them. However... I really do not know just how extensively this innovative device was used for night-combat purposes. Maybe it wasn't used that much at all???.

I think it might not fit so well into the scope of the game, which is on an operational scale. If the game were a tactical one, like "Close Combat" that would make sense, but here IMHO it would feel a bit "off".

That's exactly what I was thinking.Snake97644 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 22, 2020 5:55 am I think it might not fit so well into the scope of the game, which is on an operational scale. If the game were a tactical one, like "Close Combat" that would make sense, but here IMHO it would feel a bit "off".

Day Night cycles would be very welcome....
on an individual scenario basis, to create even more scenario variety and cool stuff you could do in special case situations and operations.
It definitely doesn't fit into every scenario though, and would not be welcome in them either.

I think if you change the turns to hours instead of days it could fit, actually lot of operations started really early in mean of time, like D-Day at 6am, or other operations like airborne assaults, but i agree that in the normal campaign it doesn't fit very well, but in the AO it opens new possibilities to explore certain operations or add more mission variety like raiding depots, like the Afrika korps did to the british, there was reports that the germans stole supplies from the british at night, and that will mean more missions and more content in general
Re: Why not a Day-Night cycle?
Personally that's definitely why I especially like this game. Panzer Corps 2 is a great game in its own right, but it's the potential to improve, grow, and expand that keeps my interest in the game going for the long run.
Night operations could be such a feature in the future, but I can't say or promise anything about it on my own. It's definitely not up to me, heh. But if it existed, I think it would be neat. It would probably affect a lot of mechanics, which is both challenging but also makes it interesting to explore.

Yeah totally i agree, think about missions where you should use the night at your advantage to encircle or sneak through enemy possitions, or to surprise them with trained units to operate at night, against enemies that aren't prepared, this could be reflected like normal units have nerfed stats during night time
