Error - WarinTheEast Application has stopped working

Post by brentwilkiepc »

On attempt to launch (Steam, Win 10) seeing error "WarinTheEast Application has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

Have tried various fixes based on other posts -
Have run as Administrator,
verified files on Steam,
renamed Video folder,
reinstalled to a different Steam library

None have worked. I generated the dxdiag.txt file, but the post doesn't appear to accept text files as attachments.

Thanks
BP

We prefer that DxDiag files be posted as message attachments rather than pasted into the body of the post.

once the report has been made, just zip the file then attach it to your post as it's a Txt file which is then not permitted to attach to the forum, where as a zip file is.

your audio drivers are also old and would or may need updating for windows 10, as 2015 to 2017 are out of date and will benefit from later drivers

but you main issue is having 2 GPU, and the game wont work with one so you will need to tell the game and O/S which one to use by default and also you can't run 4k with low Dedicated Memory, you need not only more Dedicated Memory but faster speed memory, not shared or you get lag or not working at all, the Dedicated GPU has more memory, but as it's a low end, cut down laptop GPU that's low powered, making it do the extra work for 4k will or could make it run hot and also give poorer results, changing the power saving mode for it in settings may help, but only if running off mains, and also if you have a better cooling solution for it

Code: Select all
