Shooting in/from village

Post by zoltan »

A 6 element BG of LF is within a village (not at edge).

Can they shoot at a target outside the village at 6MUs?

How many dice do they get at long range?

Troops inside a village are only visible within 2 MU's so I assume this is the only range they can fire within.

Any troops inside can only fire in 1 rank.

Apparently, to make the rules easier visibility works both ways so, if you can only see 2 MU in the terrain you can only shoot and be shot at from 2 MU. So even if at an edge, but still entirely in, the 2 MU ramge is it.

As i remember a thread earlier... That is not true.. As for a gully.. The folks can shoot out but until you get in range.. You cant shoot back... Its like they are hiding behind rocks and such jumping out and shooting and hiding again... I remember playing paint ball years ago. Their was a flag in a middle of a open area surrounded by 3 hvy wooded hills... Someone ran to get the flag.. The other 2 hills erupted with paintballs. It looked like the trees were throwing them at him... Couldnt see the folks shooting.. But they shot the snot out of him.

It is clarified in the FAQ IIRC.

But you are not restricted to 2, 3, or 4 MU visibility in a gully. If you are in it or on the edge you can see everything in it

Gullies are not mentioned in the FAQ about shooting and visibility distances. However, the rules state "Troops in a gully can see outside". I think this means "shoot outside at normal distances". An earlier thread here indicated they can shoot at troops outside normally but these can not shoot back until within 1 MU.

Yes not mentioned as the FAQ is about equal visibility distances, not about being unseen at all as below ground level.
