Blagrot (Spanish (Sertorius) 80-70 BC) beat rs2excelsior (Samnite 355-272 BC with Etruscan 330-280 BC allies) 53% - 26%

A mad charge of the impact mediums this, the Samnites had a nice hill to settle on so the Spanish ignored that part of the battlefield as much as possible! The much more numerous spanish skirmishers harrassed the veterans Samnites as they tried to move across and my heaviest blow landed a lot sooner than my opponents did, my left flank was defended mostly by thoughts and prayers at the end but my right and centre were breaking though. Thanks for the game and chat, look forward to the next one.

Just the A and B divisions continuing this week as the others have finished. 2 more wins for pompeytheflatulent gives him a fabulous 10-match clean sweep in Division A and a 40 point total that can only be equalled in future, never bettered. 2 wins also for hidde against desertedfox, who is now relegated from the top section. In Division B paulmcneil beat batesmotel twice leaving batesmotel requiring 2 wins of any sort against fellow-struggler Challenge1 to avoid the drop.

Pool B Final

Aetius39 (Greeks) defeats TomoeGozen (Macedonian) 56-28

Aetius39 (Macedonians) defeats TomoeGozen (Greeks) 40-15

In the first game, the pikes were strong, but the Greek flanks were stronger; the Greeks managed to get a few good flank-routs in early, blunting the Macedonian charge that really hurt the Greek center.
In the second game, the Macedonian center charged up field but shorted the left and right, protecting the flanks. This gave the center time to rout enough Greeks before those scary sacred band came up from behind.
GG in both to my opponent, who played well and made it tough!

Triarii Bosporan beats Sunnyboy Arab - 51-11.

Arabs stuck to rough ground (archers) and a hill - spearmen, elephants and cavalry.
Fortunately for the Bosporans their MI were able to get in amongst the archers and then flank the troops on the hill.

Thanks to Aetius for 2 good games and congratulations on the win. When playing the Macedonians I over estimated how quickly I thought they could beat the Greeks in the centre .. bad mistake
In both games though Aetius was definitely the deserved winner , I was well and truly outplayed

Blagrot (Arab City 300-633 AD) beat snooky51 (Parthian 250 BC-225 AD with Arab 312 BC-299 AD allies) 62% - 55%

The battlefield was a small stream with large hills to either side which we both promptly decided were no good for sitting on, my cavalry were dispatched rapidly but the infantry wiped out the token foot of the Parthians and slowly ground down the cataphracts by weight of numbers, the cruelty of my opponent to camels could not be left unavenged! Thanks for the game and commentary.
