I found this youtube video which I find interesting. I have no clue regarding correctness, but it seems sound to me:
The MAIN Reason Why Germany Lost WW2 - OIL
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVo5I0xNRhg
I wonder what would happen if oil would cost prestige in the game ...
Then I am thinking about my armies where I upgrade Infantry to Kradschützen ...
I like heavy tanks or fast tanks like Panther.
Oil could cost increasingly more prestige. And less after capturing some "oil rigs" ... would like to have such dynamics in the game?
german oil shortage - would it be "fun" to have this a factor in the game?

There's a few options.
You could reduce fuel for axis vehicles in equipment files after some date. This would most conveniently be done by changing fuel scores for each dlc. That would allow fuel score to be reduced more in 44 than 43, more again in 45. You probably don't need much reduction in 45, as in the snow you will have almost no movement. I'd recommend ensuring yiu have horse transport available. As an aside, I often remove transport from infantry and use horses for towing lighter guns in 44 and 45 to cope with snow. Horses are also surprisingly good in desert.
The more refined method is to script fuel reductions in scenarios, so you can vary harshness to reflect strategic factors putside the scenario.
I've used fuel and ammo bonuses when capturing based in a desert mod, which is a bit crude but works ok.
For the more professional approach, Pak mod uses a system which includes supply vehicles and centres.

McGuba considered some of this in his Battlefield Europe mod as well.

Yeah Battlefield Europe is frustratingly feel of accuracy with the oil shortage.

Apologies to McGuba. I knew I'd miss something out.

Interesting point, but adding oil stations are a little to much messing with game engine
I think that oil shortages could be implemented by reducing movement for german tanks and transport, also reducing oil capacity,,,,
German big tanks are to overpowered and Tiger should have 4 move, Tiger II 3 move.

5 move is a fast for a tiger. It would still be worth having for the armour and gun with 4 move. The lower speed adds contrast with cheap all-round IV g and faster panther to keep life interesting and encourages a mixed core.

I am not so sure about this. It looks like the Tiger I had a very similar speed to the Panzer IV and reports also agree that it was indeed surprisingly mobile for its weight.captainjack wrote: ↑Mon Nov 23, 2020 9:27 am 5 move is a fast for a tiger. It think is it better to simulate its (early) reliability problems by giving it a low maximum fuel value. That way it has to stop for a turn to refuel more often than other more reliable tanks which can simulate the frequent breakdowns and repairs.

Another way to approach the oil shortage problem would be to have hard limits on the number of aircraft and mobile units that you could deploy. The remaining units would have to be on foot or without transportation.
