Round Two - possible armies for Enemies to use
This is not meant to be a tournament style list of options. If you think that another list is feasible because it reflects historical conflict with the Ottomans then go for it. If you think one of the lists below should not be used, well just mention it in the other thread and don't use it.
From Tercio to Salvo, must include at least a year of the period 1560-1609
- Spanish
- Austrian
- Polish
- Russian
- Transylvanian (you will need filters off for this choice) - to cover typical enemies in the Balkans
From the mod Extra Nations v2 (downloadable from within the game)
- Mamluk
- Safavid Persian
- Russian
- Portuguese
- Portugues in Morocco
- Moroccan
- Algerian
- Khanate of Kazan
- Venetian
- Venetian Colonial
- Wallachian
- Zapo Cossacks

To all the Ottoman Beys,Viziers & Timariots prepare for an onslaught of our lands by the fanatical followers of the Papists and other misguided non believers.
Re: Ottoman team event programme
Hmm, in 1533 Poland and the Ottoman Empire signed the treaty of "Perpetual Peace" that lasted unbroken to 1620. Their previous war lasted between 1485-1503 but I guess that in our version of history Ottomans became too big of a threat for Poland to ignore. From Tercio to Salvo, must include at least a year of the period 1560-1609

The list is very good overall but I would remove Crimean Khanate from it. Girays (Khan Dynasty) were a bit unruly but ultimately loyal vassals and were considered to be the second most important family in the Empire right after the House of Osman. From the mod Extra Nations v2 (downloadable from within the game)

Re: Ottoman team event programme
Sorry, Veles, for the errors. You will have to educate us on Polish history I am afraid (I would happily learn).
As two players, including your venerable Captain, have seized on the chance to play Poles I think we must accept your suggestion of an alternative universe.
I will follow your advice on the Crimeans. Thanks

Re: Ottoman team event programme
Very good point posted by Veles
" Hmm, in 1533 Poland and the Ottoman Empire signed the treaty of 'Perpetual Peace' that lasted unbroken to 1620."
As this Event is 'sort of ' historically based I would like to move that "the Poles be moved to Round 3".
Any seconders ?
I am heading off to the Christchurch Wargaming Club to play Andre in a 25mm Table Top wargame so will discuss it with him.
Re: Ottoman team event programme
Poles for me as well thanks.
Re: Ottoman team event programme
As my Achaemenid Persians beat Kiwiwarlord's Franks by a rather large margin (he lost 35/35 and I lost 6/30) at the club on Sunday I feel that I have proved by trial of combat that the Poles can be used in round 2 of this tournament.
Re: Ottoman team event programme
I am going to take an Executive Decision...
Firstly, my apologies to our Polish friends for the inaccuracy of my list, but let's also remember this is just a game.
Secondly, several of the Enemies players have already selected Polish and trying to get them to change that seems a bit unhelpful.
Thirdly, Mohacs was very much favourable to the Ottomans so let's give a bit of leeway to the Enemies team this round.
So, Polish armies may be selected but only in the time period specified, 1560-1609. Note that the Ottoman threat level stands at 29, very high, so Enemies armies get a 200 point bonus. I know this will dishearten the Ottomans but never mind, it will make their victories more glorious.
I hope everyone can live with this.
So now please just get on with it and Enemies players you should launch the games launched. Have fun.

I suggest that Poles be replaced with Persians.
The Ottomans were at war with the Persians from 1623-1639.

Re: Ottoman team event programme
There are reliable reports that Kiwiwarlord is so terrified of the Poles that his entire Ottoman army is sulking in forests and refusing to meet them in the open as real men would do. Sulaimon Mahommed (praise be to his soul) would be so very very ashamed of such despicable cowardice and have Kiwiwarlord strangled along with all his family, servants, and friends.
But I accept that the Poles have proved their mastery over the Turks and we do not need to use them again.

Re: Ottoman team event programme
However Persians are already on the list of available options, so I suggest we be able to use Georgians, those magnificent defenders of Christianity.
