A much closer match than the score shows but the Carthaginian infantry were dogged enough to hold the legions until the elephant supported cavalry could get involved. Really enjoyable match. Thanks!

An epic clash in the centre, my units had hardly anyone left by the end of the battle. The picts Managed to not all run away on my right, whilst the left held long enough for my huscarls in the centre to break through and start getting some important flanks.

A victory for Nosy_Rat (Pontic) against top of the table harveylh (Gallic) this week means that Nosy_Rat is in a very strong position to become the champion of Classical Antiquity. He needs just 4 points from his last 2 matches to overtake harveylh, although he could still face a late challenge from Triarii (Hannibal in Italy) who can get to 29 points if he wins his last 3 matches with maximum points. If this happens then Nosy_Rat will need a fifth point to become the champion. At the bottom desertedfox (Macedonian) is almost certainly relegated after suffering his eighth defeat of the season. In Division B Challenge1 (Hannibal in Africa) has recovered from a defeat to the leader in the clubhouse Morbio (Hannibal in Italy) and has posted his fifth win to move into second place. He now needs 8 points from 3 matches to overtake Morbio and one of those matches is against batesmotel (Pergamene) who still has a mathematical chance of automatic promotion. In Division C kraff has won automatic promotion despite narrowly losing his last match to Najanaja (Hannibal in Italy) and oscarius (Spanish) can still take third place if he wins his last match well against cromlechi (Gallic). Tresantes (Pyrrhic) is relegated from Division D after both Bluefin (Macedonian) and random 27 (Samnite) posted important wins this week. Division E is still wide open with Kerait (Roman), Blagrot (Sertorius) and tmac11 (Seleucid) still able to overtake deeter's (Hannibal in Italy) modest target of 25 points. Blagrot still has to play both Kerait and tmac11. At the bottom the match between Barrold713 (Seleucid) and Tratmot (Achaemenid) could decide the relegation issue as the winner will go past Geoffrey.P.Smith (Galatian) who has finished on just 5 points. kronenblatt (Pyrrhic) has won automatic promotion after winning his last match against bottom-placed hscic (Tigranes) and doomben (Bosporan) has finished second with both players registering 8 wins for the season. hscic needs just 1 point from his last 3 matches to leave telesien (Hannibal in Italy) with the wooden spoon.
