Cannot download updates or even check for updates

The game that will "ruin friendships", ICBM allows up to 8 players to engage in total nuclear war. The winner shall be the one who lost the least.

Cannot download updates or even check for updates

I have the non-steam version and I get an error from the updater when I try to check for updates. Anyone else getting this?

Error: Update information for ICBM could not be downloaded. Please contact Slitherine for help.

Have you checked that the launcher/updater has permissions through any firewall you may be running?

Have you checked the My Page entry for the game, as it is possible that the update may be downloadable there if it has been uploaded yet.
