I'm not familiar with the list but I'm assuming both Knight BGs are allies?
If they are allies - the potential downside of any Knight on Knight action is that any opponent is likely to have Commanders with 2 or more Knight BGs - which puts one of yours at a potential disadvantage.
I used to run 2 Serb Ally Knight BGs with my Ottomans (before the list was published) and always found that the BG without a general died pretty quickly.

Be a real man Pete, use the Ottomans without any Serbs at all. (Actually they worked pretty well without any MF Janissaries either).petedalby wrote:I used to run 2 Serb Ally Knight BGs with my Ottomans (before the list was published) and always found that the BG without a general died pretty quickly.
The intention is to run the Ally General with the Superior Undrilled and let the Superior drilled look after themselves but within command range of the AG. Knowing what I'll be facing at my local club I know there isn't a lot of knight killers around in their armies.petedalby wrote:I'm not familiar with the list but I'm assuming both Knight BGs are allies?

I have used the Syrian States army organised pretty much as above. It is quite effective. However, as has been said above, the problem is only having one general for 2 BGs of knights. This in fact affects both BGs, because it is extremely risky to put the AG into close combat as if he is killed your entire ally contingent is effectively screwed as nothing can ever be bolstered thereafter.grahambriggs wrote:If you did want TCs with both then Ilkhanid with Armenian allies can do it (though some knights are only armoured). But sounds like you want to use Syrians. In fact I have a Syrian army - hmmm.
Essentially this means that the knights will not fight as effectively as they would if they were part of the main army. (And hence are not as good value).
This is not to say that the army is no good, merely that the knights have to be used with more finesse.
