StuG

Post by nono hard et heavy »

Hello.
In the Blitzkrieg campaign, the StuG IIIB (16/6/40 to 5/5/41) then the StuG IIID (5/5/41 to 18/9/41) and the StuG IIIE (18/9/41 to 13/3/42) can be bought as a tank. Then, nothing more.
But in the AT, one can buy the StuG IIIF from 13/3/42. Why can't we convert StuG IIIE to StuG IIIF ?
My Stug IIIE have gained experience (2 stars) but what will they be used for in the Panzerkrieg campaign?
Greetings.

Yes, that's because they are not allowed to be upgraded into AT from Tank, no matter they have the proper entry.

I think there's a workaround, if you switch to ART, then upgrade into the AT/ART dual class assault gun, then switch back to AT class and upgrade it to the proper pure AT. Or you must struggle XPing up a towed gun in AT class (((

I strongly disagree them being tank class apart from that. they are not, but assault gun used in AT role as well (no matter the short barrel) like the real tank using the same gun (PzIV CDE)

But Pz IV with short barrel was used against enemy's infantry and fortification, very rarely against tanks
armor-piercing parameters of this short cannon were dire

RE: StuG
The first concept was to make a weapon against Maginot Line bunkers and StuG IIIA was used in this role in June 1940.
