Re: Nosy_Rat's 30 match winning run in Early Middle Ages has ended!
Congratulations. Amazing result. I think the record is unbeatable. A little sad that I interrupted it.
PS: And I also wanted to say that at the end of our game we played very fast (5-6 turns per day). So maybe there was a chance to win more when Nosy_Rat slowed down our game.

Division C
Kraff (Kushan 130 BC-476 AD) draws with SawyerK (Byzantine 551-578 AD): 47-34.
A very interesting game, with the Byzantines using nomadic tactics very skillfully, probing and keeping distance, thus preserving their force from being massacred by Kushan elephants. The Kushans, on the other hand, got distracted and unnecessarily wasted a lot of precious time and men in ultimately successful attempt to destroy a small force of enemy cavalry that was seeking refuge in a small forest. If not for that, this might have been a victory for the Kushans.

Division E
rs2excelsior (Samnite 355-272 BC with Etruscan 330-280 BC allies) beat Tratmot (Achaemenid Persian 480-416 BC with Greek 680-461 BC allies) 51-24
This was a rough one for the Persians. The Samnites hung back at first, keeping to a patch of rough ground while the Persians had deployed on the hills at their end of the map. The Persians advanced, and for a while the Samnites let them come. Samnite skirmishers were driven off by Persian arrows, but the Samnite cavalry passed through the infantry ahead of them and (surprisingly) beat their Persian counterparts. As the Persian line closed in, the Samnites rushed forwards, quickly coming to grips. The Samnites were ferocious in this battle - there were enough to allow units disrupted by arrow fire to be bypassed by fresh units. The Sparbara stood little chance against the ferocity of the Samnites, especially when two Samnite units in the forest to the left deployed and outflanked the Immortals holding the far right. The allied Greek hoplites put up a better fight, but they suffered from bad luck in the impact phases - an armored hoplite with general dropped to fragmented when charging one of my raw legionaries. With Samnites forcing their way around both flanks and the Persian center failing to push through, the battle was over.
Screenshot at the end of the fight: Good game! If the impact phases hadn't gone as well for me it would have been much closer. Thanks for the game!

GG, thrilling to the end, and it could have gone the other way with a failed cohesion check on the last turn.
