Weekly round-up
harveylh (Gallic) still leads in Division A despite suffering his first defeat of the season to one of his main challengers, Triarii (Hannibal in Italy), who now has 4 wins from 5 starts. Nosy_Rat (Pontic) and hidde (Numidian) both have 2 wins from 3 matches and could yet make a challenge in the second half of the season. In Division B Morbio (Hannibal in Italy) has extended his lead to 5 points after defeating previously unbeaten batesmotel (Pergamene), but SLancaster (Roman) and Challenge1 (Hannibal in Africa) still remain in challenging distance. MorkinTheFree (Pontic) sits on top of Division C at the moment, but this will not be for very long as he has completed his matches with just 4 wins on his record. Players waiting to overtake him and fight it out for automatic promotion include the unbeaten kraff (Numidian) and oscarius (Sertorius) as well as Najanaja (Hannibal in Italy) who has 4 wins from 5 starts. At the bottom of the table bomber23 (Seleucid) is relegated. In Division D unbeaten Aetius39 (Kyrenean Greek) registered his fourth straight win in his pursuit of the current leader Warg1 (Roman), while TomoeGozen (Graeco-Bactrian) had a good week and moved into second place for now with 2 wins. A blistering sequence of 4 wins this week has seen Kerait (Roman) move into second place in Division E just 1 point behind joggy (also Roman) who has already completed his matches. Blagrot (Sertorius) and tmac11 (Seleucid) are both still in the hunt too with 3 wins from 4 starts. Automatic promotion from Division F is just between doomben (Bosporan) and kronenblatt (Pyrrhic) now. doomben currently has a 5 point advantage but that might not be enough as kronenblatt has 2 games in hand.

The Romans achieved a strong opening as both sides set about demolishing their respective enemy left flank, although the Soissonese closed the gap that early success enabled the Romans to launch decisive cavalry assaults into the rear of the main infantry struggle.

Nosy_Rat (Breton) is still on top of Division A, but he has now been joined there by CheAhn (Sassanid) who also has 5 wins albeit having played 2 more matches. LuciusSulla (Roman) has 3 wins from 4 starts and there are players further down the table who could yet make challenges in what is quite a slow division. In Division B schmolywar (Jewish Revolt) still has a 7 point lead and he needs to win his last match against unbeaten batesmotel (Germanic Horse Tribes) to set a reasonable target of 24 points in what looks like being a very tight contest. It is also very close in Division C where SLancaster (Roman) moved back to the top with a victory in his eighth match. oscarius (Jewish Revolt) is his main challenger now after winning his fifth consecutive match, while Garokan (Bosporan) has faltered slightly after suffering a second defeat. In Division D Aetius39 (Bosporan) has maintained his unbeaten record and now needs 8 points from his last 3 matches to overtake long-time leader Warg1 (Scots-Irish). One of those matches is against Ironclad (Roman) who is also going very well with 6 wins from 7 starts. Ironclad cannot overtake Warg1 as he lost to him earlier in the season, but we could see an unprecedented situation where three players end up on 32 points. Morat (Lombard) is still the leader in Division E, just 2 points ahead of Rob123 (Germanic Horse Tribes) with both players have 3 matches remaining. Barrold713 (Palmyran) is still very much in the hunt with 3 wins from 4 starts. Interesting situation now in Division F where third-placed wellsonian (Roman) needs 7 points from 2 very tough matches against Darkwater247 (Gepid) and toska (Sassanid) to overtake the leader in the clubhouse, Conteshard (Byzantine), who has finished on 27 points. toska is unbeaten in 3 starts and may also get close to that 27 point target.

Still very slow in Division A where another win for Nosy_Rat (Spanish) has seen him strengthen his position at the top of the table. Macedonczyk (Andalusian) looks the most likely player to challenge, having started with 2 wins. Sennacherib (Ummayad) has joined the division as a late replacement. LuciusSulla (Andalusian) completed a clean sweep in Division B to take the automatic promotion place and Cunningcairn (German) is moving confidently into the runners-up position after securing his fourth consecutive win. In Division C Stew101 (Frankish) has moved to the top of the table with 2 more wins this week ahead of Warg1 (Arab Conquest) and Karvon (also Arab Conquest). mr cholo's (Viking Ireland) challenge has just about ended after 2 defeats this week but Aetius39 (Andalusian) looks poised to make a challenge after a third straight win this week. Conteshard (Byzantine) has won Division D after posting 3 wins this week to finish 2 points ahead of BishUK (Indian Hindu). joggy (Serbian) should finish third. There are still 4 players in with a shout of automatic promotion in Division E. kronenblatt (Rus) is the current leader, but DryNick (Arab Conquest), Blagrot (British) and snooky51 (Dailami) all still have chances to make a challenge. A quiet week in Division F saw a defeat for CoryC (Abbasid) which has probably put an end to his challenge. carpenkm (Norman) is still out in front with wellsonian (Byzantine) and toska (German) in pursuit.

Kraff (Numidian or Moorish 55 BC-6 AD) defeated cromlechi (Gallic 300-101 BC with Umbrian 490-260 BC allies): 47-20.

After losing his first match, Conteshard and his Byzantine/Georgian army recovered superbly to post 8 consecutive victories to win automatic promotion from Division D. Well played Conteshard and hard luck BishUK (Indian Hindu North).

Cunningcairn Persian beat XLegione Indian 40% to 13%

We were having 2 fantastic, close contests and then in this game I had 3 rallies from routed in a single turn which took XLegione to 25% and won me the game. Very, very lucky and an unfortunate end to a great game. Thanks and well played.

It always a pleasure to play with you, all the battles are intense with a lot of adrenaline and fun. This battle was compromised when you killed my elephant general, 3 rallies limited just my pains

Nothing much to report in Division A this week but in the first top of the table clash Cunningcairn beat XLegione to reduce his lead to 4 points. paulmcneil eased his relegation concerns with 2 wins against Challenge1. No developments in Division C yet concerning the battle for second place between ahuyton and NikiforosFokas while In Division D kraff finished strongly to take third place. SawyerK will be relegated unless he can beat Barrold713 twice. Division E is still wide open with 4 players still having a chance of automatic promotion. deeter suffered a third defeat but both he and random27 can overtake current leader Rob123 if they win their last 2 matches. Blagrot can still also mount a late challenge after posting 3 wins from his first 5 starts. At the bottom wmpryor is definitely relegated after a late revival for gamercb has seen him win his last 3 matches. tmac11 has pipped kronenblatt to the automatic promotion place in Division F after winning his last 5 matches. At the bottom the wooden spoon will be decided by the 2 matches between McHarg and SSB.
