Why was the scenario "Start Briefing" screen removed?
As the title says I kinda miss that little screen. And it was already there. So why remove it?
Personally I would like to see it back in the game.

One extra click more or less at the beg. of each scn - easy decision.

Okay, thanks for the answer. But really? So no technical issue or something? If an extra click's the whole reason for removing it, I vote to re-instate it!
I'm quite sure that I NEVER read anybody EVER complaining about that screen being there, or the extra "mouse click"...
For me it was all about immersion: Whenever I got a new campaign/DLC, excited about the new scen, anticipation... and after the game has finally done loading the scen, I got the "black screen" with the Begin Briefing first. Expectations are rising...
Then I made sure to have my drinks, snacks and cigarettes ready before I FINALLY hit the "start briefing" button and see the new map, briefing and can begin playing...

Come on, it was a nice feature, bring it back. Please.

For whatever reason this decision was re-considered... Thank you for bringing it back!

It's obvious there was some lesser incident during that "newer & better" phase of one of the Soviet DLCs (several versions ago; there are still previous changelogs to be found on Internet), and they messed some stuff up (the "Start Briefing" among the casualties), and now are slowly rebuilding back towards the "status quo" from before but with new and improved content. However, since no one from the staff is going to confirm nor deny, as they don't touch this kind of topics, we will never know, and this is my (un)educated guess.GabeKnight wrote: ↑Fri Sep 04, 2020 7:47 am Okay, thanks for the answer. When I see that screen, it gives the impression that a million-dollar CGI cutscene is going to follow. I mean, I'd already be glad for these typical 5-dollar unity-cardboard pseudo-3D cutscenes that the game has, but I guess such cutscenes are things of the past and rather for RTS games with a little more story.

If the button "Start Briefing" is no longer functional then it should logically be deleted...

Re: Why was the scenario "Start Briefing" screen removed?
In all honesty, we fixed something else, and this screen suddenly started working again.... so, your prayers to the machine gods appear to have paid off!

Re: Why was the scenario "Start Briefing" screen removed?
As said... "whatever reason"...
Because I heard two "button-click" sounds at the beginning of each scen, I was always under the impression that the "briefing" screen was not removed per se, but rather that there was an automatic second "mouse-click" skipping that screen.
