servers down? I Can't finish my turn. 10/26/ 22:18

And while I'm thinking of it...I've submitted my turn, why can't the program just hold onto it till it re-establishes a connection with the servers. As it is, I'm stuck listening to the sounds of troops grappling in melee combat until the game accepts my turn or cancel and have to replay the turn completely?

Yes I couldnt submit my turn yesterday either had to forfeit it. I dont know why there isnt an option to leave it pending unsent so you can try again later. I spent a long time on setting up and now going to have to do it all again. And will I be able to set up properly because it was my first turn? And now I am waiting for my opponent to do both of his turns. So will I even get to set up and choose my troops?

Sometimes the server reports that it could not upload the turn, but in fact it has done so. If control passed to your opponent, that is usually what has happened. Usually your force selection and deployment will have been saved correctly. (Though we had a recent report of one game where they weren't).

We are looking into this issue.

If this happens again, please can you supply the error.log from /Documents/My Games/FieldOfGlory2/error.log

You need to do it before restarting the game, otherwise it will be overwritten. However, the game does save time stamped backups of previous error.log files, if you can identify which one it is from the time stamp, but I think it only does that if the game actually crashes.

This is literally, of all my games, the only one that had something good happen in weeks. "If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have no luck at all."

I exited out to find that the game had indeed submitted my turn. If you ever need a partner to rob a bank, this game is it: It stuck to it's story for twelve hours of intense questioning, even though it was lying the whole time.

Similar thing happened to me right now. The game said numerous times it couldn´t send my turn; but when I finally gave up and canceled out, the turn appears to have been actually sent.

Other tourny game, same story; this really starts to be a bit annoying.

Just happened again on another game. I had to use the Windows Task Manager to shut FOG down after repeated uploading failures, this time without the option to cancel.

Yeah, this happens to me every now and then. Since you can't tell if the turn was uploaded or not, and since the only way to move on is to exit the game, this seems like a pretty good argument against those that argue for a "one strike you're out" approach to game reloads.

On both occasions, the game shows as if it has uploaded and that it is now my opponents turn....all well and good until you consider that these opponents have yet to send theturn back to me, which is unusual. So now I am reaching out to see if they see what I see in regards to who's turn it is. This is quite unusual, I have had almost rock solid performance from the Slitherine servers and my internet. I did just replace my router so I'm beginning to wonder if that may have caused this sudden issue.

Maybe, but I've had this happen every now and then despite no changes to my network.
