ICBM - Goal of the Game?

The game that will "ruin friendships", ICBM allows up to 8 players to engage in total nuclear war. The winner shall be the one who lost the least.

ICBM - Goal of the Game?

Post by Werewolf13 »

From the trailer and the marketing I'm having trouble determining the goal of the the game ICBM.

Is the goal to start a nuclear war, survive one, avoid one, prevent one? What's the deal?

I'm reminded of the 80's movie wargames where at the end of the movie the Computer AI determined that the only way to win was for both sides NOT to PLAY.

The nuclear war is inevitable in the game, if you don't start first then some other player will.

And your goal depends on the game mode. In one mode your goal do defend as many of your people as possible, in another - do as many kills as possible. But in general your goal is to insure your faction suffers the least by investing in the right technologies and infrastructure.

This is sort of like a cold war that went hot. Your goals are going to be, whatever sees your nation out in the best position with the least damage when the time runs out. Talking from a lore standpoint of course, in terms of scoring points and such, that depends on the mode.
