I've always upgraded this to a 17cm because later game it's not as effective as the targets get stronger. Would an attack hero help with this? Does anyone use them for the whole campaign?
Thanks for any opinions.

Re: 10.5cm.
Yes I have 3 or 4 in my core currently.
1 with +1 A +1 Range that hits and suppresses those hard to reach places
1 with +2 Attack that helps to get kills and desired suppression
1 with +1 Movement that helps with set up defensive maneuvers
I also have 2 17cm artillery, but having the 10.5 help to keep soft cap from becoming a factor and I love the full use of all my overstrength, unlike the .8 of 17cm artillery
I hope this helps

Mathematicaly 10,5 cm gun with +3 attack collective heroes has more firepower then bigger guns because of ROF 100%.. Sometimes its wise to even downgrade 17cm to 10,5 cm and aid prestige cap headaches.
Beginning 1944 most scenarios are defensive ones so towed arty is enough.
I think players tend to shift towed artillery to Wespes and Hummels because adding costly transport to 10,5 cm changes its economic justification.
I am currently playing DLC 43 on Manstein and have 3x 10,cm. Definitelly dont have a plan to upgrade them.

One more plus about the 105 mm guns is that they have 8 ammo. This is better than the larger guns and Nebelwerfers.

Re: 10.5cm.
But they dont cause any significant suppression/kills to enemy tanks, do they? Would you have to have like a seccond set of suppressors to avoid damage from attacking enemy armor unsuppressed?

Re: 10.5cm.
I disagree...they get suppression, sometimes significant. very little tank kills, but soft boys they get the kills. The +Attack bonuses help

Re: 10.5cm.
by the way i just realized one good point abt 15 cm compared to 17 cm - with 15 cm you can still use armed half-truck, which comes in handy at least some times
