PBEM server maintenance notice (October 12)

Next monday (October 12) we are going to migrate a number of games from PBEM1 to PBEM3. This means we will need to shut the PBEM server down for around one hour for certain games which still make use of PBEM1.

What does it mean:

- For around one hour on Monday October 12 at 3 pm UK time players won't be able to login on PBEM for the games listed below;
- Ongoing inactive games that haven't received turn submissions in the last month and a half will be removed;

List of affected games:

- Battle Academy
- Close Combat Gateway to Caen
- Close Combat Panthers in the Fog
- Close Combat The Bloody First
- Commander The Great War
- Conflict of Heroes
- Decisive Campaigns: Barbarossa
- Decisive Campaigns: Case Blue
- Field of Glory
- Flashpoint Campaigns: Red Storm
- Gary Grigsby's War in the East
- Last Day of Old Earth
- Panzer Corps
- Team Assault - Baptism of Fire
- Time of Fury
- Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon
- World in Flames

Also, when you say 'Field of Glory' do you mean Field of Glory 2?

I think if they meant Field of Glory 2 they would have said so. Also, all the other games in the list are very old, so I think it is safe to assume they meant the original Field of Glory game.

Hi there

It's now 18.00 hours and still we can't use multiplayer on FOG I.

I am guessing there's an awful lot of games to delete.

Nearly 21.00 hour no go. It's best to over estimate how long. One hours a bit out as it's now nearly 6 hours

ps.. is there any way you would ever go back to panzercorps 1 and give it buyable upgrades? ie: buyable placeable minefields.. espionage and coun ter espionage with possible prestige drains on hidden spies near important objectives.. added intelligence clearing specific FOW... buyable placeable varying strength forts.. more bigger balanced maps like 1941,..but with total forces buyable , and variable by randomness (or agreement) objectives? camouflaged built in units.. better backing music..better superweapons, and more specialist prototype ones .. what about AA in attack mode.. there was a cool video where someone modded the wirblewind to have inf attack capabilities panzercorps has sooooo many using it still ..it really doesn't deserve to be laid to rest..still the best you've done imho sooooo many cool upgrades you could do ..all this 3d nonsense really isn't necessary on the best playability game out there.. look at it's fan base ..and amount of active users on multiplayer! winning formula you can doooo it!

I found I was unable to access my account or the games I was playing. I received a response "user haven't accessed".

It appears my account and games in process were erased and my user name wasn't recognized. Anyway I may access my account?

Hmm Still can't login to Multiplayer for War in the East.
It says "newer version available
and "the error"

WTF. Been playing scenarios on PBEM multiplayer for months now, and today I try to access 7 active scenarios and I get the message "User haven't logged in" every time I try to access multiplayer! Does this mean all the games I have with various individuals are all history? This really sucks!

Made the mistake of changing my password, thinking that was the problem, before checking the forums. Now I'm sure I am screwed for ever getting back into those scenarios with the individuals I was playing?

Espionage, intelligence ? Sounds like Civilisation

Didn't you experience any errors playing those big maps ? I had some problems, when discussed with Support, they claim that the game's core engine is not designed to handle such big scenarios, and sooner or later such games will crash.

You can always put your favourite music into the game I have Luftwaffe March on main menu, and many soundtracks from war movies during game Just put together around 2 hours of music into one mp3 file, and now I can play it all day long

It can be tough, as what's the point of developing old PzC while there is a need to make a commercial succes of PzC 2 ?.. In that case, maybe SSI studio can do some upgrades to Pacific General, or Panzer General from 1994 ?

Relax, fortunately it's only a game
However this sound serious, as no feedback after maintenance and still down servers seem they have a real problem. Probably transition to PBEM3 didn't go as expected.
