To Richard: See attached zipped file below. I've updated the armylist.txt file therein so that all allies are now available to all satrapies. Should be in good order. Could you please replace the current MP and SP versions with this one, and let me know when done? Thanks.

To everyone: once uploaded and made available in-game as new module by RBS, please delete old version (V2) and replace through in-game downloading with V3, which will be used for battles in round 2 and onwards.
Question: I'm playing a game now with Karvon on the old file. I can't play Deeter because he has the new one and I don't. Do I have to wait until my game with Karvon is finished to download the new zipfile and play Deeter?
Not necessarily. You can download the new files (v3) from within the game. But since both mods are called the same, it may be confusing and difficult for you to choose which mod to apply when setting up the challenge. So in this case it would be better if deeter actually sets up the challenge (even if you happen to be the defender), because then you can simply accept it.

Or what do you say, Richard?

After you and Karvon are finished, please both delete the old files (v2) so that you only have the current ones (v3).

That should work.

I have set up the challenge for aetius using version 3 of the army lists. Aetius: please look closely at the game before accepting to ensure I have done it correctly. PW: DiSp (which should always be used.)

It won't let me accept the game. Says I need to download and install the content. Any suggestions?

So you have downloaded the v3 update? You should then have this MP_DIVIDING_SPOILS_V3 folder (along with contents) in the following path:

\Users\...\Documents\My Games\FieldOfGlory2\MULTIPLAYER\MP_DIVIDING_SPOILS_V3\

I can't find deeter's challenge in the Accept Challenge tab of the FoG2 Multiplayer Lobby.

I have deleted my challenge. I figure I can just reinstall version 2 for now as aetius' game is my only one for now. Unfortunately, I no longer have version 2 and can't find it on the forum or in trash. Can someone send me this? Then aetius can repost his challenge. Going forward, it might be wise to list each version in the file name.

I don't have it either anymore unfortunately. So Aetius downloaded v3 but the game wouldn't recognise it when he tried to pick up your v3 challenge? Because if that didn't work, probably it won't work for you having v2 and v3 either, I reckon, when picking up his v2 challenge.

Yes, I'll do that from now on.

I posted with version3 but aetius is on version2 and could load it. Apparently we both need to be on the same version. Can any one provide version 2 or should I wait until aetius can upgrade?

Well, if Aetius couldn't pick up your v3 challenge even if he had both v2 and v3 downloaded, it's not very likely that you can pick up his v2 challenge even if you have both v2 and v3 downloaded. So then it's better to wait until Aetius can upgrade. But if someone has v2, you may want to give it a go anyway: never hurts trying.

(However, if Aetius had problems downloading v3 in-game, then it's available here as zip file and he can manually download, unzip, and place in the MULTIPLAYER folder:

If this can't be resolved quickly, I would be happy to withdraw my challenge so as not to delay the game for others. I have no problem sitting this turn out.

No probs, deeter: let it take its time. Once Karvon is done fighting with Aetius, you can take over. Meanwhile, keep my Rus busy with your Normans. :)

Okay, standing by, but still willing to sit a turn out if that other game takes too long. As for your Ruskies, I'm sure they know how to amuse themselves, but I won't go into that.

In an unmitigated disaster for the little known ex-stable lad of Alexanders companion cavalry ,who had somehow found himself in control of a satrap or two , I have lost my last province to that dastardly rbodleyscott character losing 15-44.
In a bizarre battle of manouver designed to try and take advantage of the only bit of terrain on the entire battlefield I had him where I wanted him and then somehow it all unravelled...
Once again I was undone by elephants ... I think...
Thanks to Richard for an interesting game , I'm still not sure what happened.. :-)

Thanks kronenblatt for running the campaign , it was fun and I'll be back for more. I shall try to do better in the Roman one....

rbodleyscott (Gedrosia + Indian allies. Staked Drangiane) defeated TomoeGozen (Areia) 44:15

A very interesting and much closer game than the final result suggests. Thanks.

Ha ha (at your story of the rise and fall of the stableboy), but sorry to hear at the same time! Yes, those elephants... They seem to be either lethal or totally harmless, never anything in between.

Anyway, many thanks to YOU for participating! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and we'll meet again (in Cyrenaica or Africa, in TYME or The West is No More... Or in a new DiSp tourney). :)

Aetius likes hearing about this plucky stable boy who ran a satrap (or 2), and has sympathy for him in his defeat. He therefore invites him to be a cavalry commander in his mighty armies, and when we get to rbodleyscott I will give him to you! (no offense, of course, rbodleyscott^^)

Tomoegozen thanks Aetius for his kind offer but perhaps it is time to forget dreams of glory, mount up on my trusty donkey and head back to the stables of Pella...

No, live your dream! But one suggested adjustment...

... head back to the stables in the countryside not too far from Pella...

You don't get to rise up from stable boy to Satrap by 'influencing' men 'in the countryside not far from Pella' ...
