From Turn #9 - Turn #24, the AI makes no attempt to engage. (Rome wins on points at night fall)

I have an extensive lists of saves (with labeled names in the saves) between Battle 08 - Battle 09. It looks like this in the game loader.

I just need to zip, and I can put them on my server for you to download.

Yes please.

What I don't understand is how the Roman units got into such a strange position. That isn't where the autdeploy routine would place them.

This actually includes all saves associated with the campaign, but it should be obvious from the naming conventions.

It's an enemy reinforcement battle. The enemy are waiting for reinforcements and won't attack. (It is assumed that there are more reinforcements coming than will actually arrive during the battle, so that if you wait for nightfall you will be heavily outnumbered and forced to retreat and hence strategically lose the stage).

You are therefore supposed to attack and defeat them before nightfall.

The bug lies not in them not advancing, but in you being credited with a win. You should have lost unless you actually fully defeated them.

Thanks for pointing out the bug, which I will fix for the next update.

I didn't know that.

My idea was that my skirmish line would disorder the Macedonian line as it attempted to pivot and create opportunities.

That I had 2 lines. The small front line of medium foot in rough. The long back line of legionaries in open.

If the front line succeeded in holding, I was going to relocate the legionaries behind to the right and attempt turn the flank on any phalanxs attacking, and do enough damage to win the fight.

But after drawing first blood, I thought it was incumbent upon the enemy to come and get some. So, I waited for the pivot.

Anyway, thank you for an excellent game, and continued support!

Busy working on the next big thing at the moment. Having said that Open Beta of the njext update could start fairly soon.
