Death Rolls

Post by GrandArmy »

Does damage carry over into the next turn for death rolls. If you have one hit against a BG, does that carry over to the next melee or shooting phase. As rolling with less dice than it takes to cause a cohesion test or death roll need not happen, it seems to me that damage cannot carry over.

How do you distinguish between shooting hits and melee hits for death rolls, or are they dealt with separately?

Have I read it right or have I read too much into the rules?

If you cannot cause a test don't roll the dice

Shooting hits occur in the shooting phase and you get a +2 on the death roll. Melee hits occur in the close combat or impact phase (which may include shooting in impact only from rear ranks). If you win or draw the combat you add 2 to your death roll.

you can never read the rules too much

Hits can be taken in the Impact, Shooting and Melee Phases. A death roll is made in each of these Phases if appropriate. There is no carry over from Phase to Phase or from turn to turn.

I think the whole idea behind the death roll is to make it so hits DO NOT carry forward. Thus, no record keeping is necessary.
