Let me ask Pete. Is losing that unit in Africa going to ruin my plans for Africa? I am really pissed I lost it because of something so stupid, but this is what blind looks like
I will try and set it up to premiere tom morning
Well, I hate to say it but it depends on what you lost and what your plans are... (in the end every unit will count of course)
There are different things going on in North Africa at different times (more or less exactly as it was historically, so no spoilers)... However, in case you lost the Rommel tank, things can become very tricky pretty quickly since you are in the open desert... (you can get surrounded and or by-passed, etc)
Nonetheless, one German tank by itself alone is never really a viable option in the long run, also not in Russia... So even with the Rommel tank you may need to send more troops there as a) the Brits will continue to bring reinforcements from Egypt and you need to decide what you want to do with North Africa, e.g. just hold the line (somewhere? up to you to find a good place) or push towards Egypt and maybe even beyond towards the oil fields (or something else can be done in North Africa/the Middle East?)... b) the Americans will show up in the West by end of 42... and want to quickly reach the soft underbelly of Europe with all its consequenses... (plus keep in mind, most likely Operation Uranus will come end of 42 as well)
Some people suggested to abandon North Africa from day one, i.e. Germany should have never helped the Italians in North Africa... well, and then some people dreamed of reaching the Suez Canal...
So many options on how to play this huge map over so many turns... have fun!
