Questions and Opinions About FOG Empires

Post by canuckgamer »

To be honest I have never been a fan of AEGOD games. I'm wondering if FOG Empires uses the same game system that their previous games used. I know you can resolve battles using FOG 2 which I have but in my opinion that would take too long. I am interested in hearing opinions from people who have played PBEM where there are at least four players as four of us are considering buying it for multiplayer. Thanks.

For a start you can't export multiplayer battles into FOG2. Arguably, exporting single player battles is tantamount to pressing the 'I Win' button (largely because exported battles don't also represent complexities of terrain - every battle map has ample room for manoeuvre).

FOGE is a new AGEOD game engine that is head and shoulders above the older version. I would love to see the English Civil War or the Thirty Years' War as the next release using Pike and Shot Campaigns as the tactical battle system. I've played a couple of 3-player MP games, and I am currently playing in a 4-player and a 16-player game. They are fun, but they can be brutal if everyone is clumped together. You can play more than one nation if you enable hotseat, which will help keep a friend in the game if his primary nation is eliminated early.
