Disbanding Units

Post by GSlapshot »

Ok I see from the manual that Shift+D is a disband command. I can't get it to work to disband unit to buy one I want more. Can I disband a core unit to buy another one since we start with more infantry and I want Ju-87's.

D is disband, remember you don`t recoup prestige. Only when you disband a purchase prior to deploy you can recoup prestige. Think wisely Herr General!

Don't do that; better use Upgrade instead.
Disband only if you need the extra slot for a different unit.

Well he said he wants to drop his infantry for Ju-87s, so he'll have to disband....

Or actually, come to think of it, he doesn't have to disband at all!

You can buy unlimited units during the deploy phase with Panzer Corps, you are only limited by how many units you can actually place on the map. (And by prestige)

Well all I want to do is disband a unit, get it's prestige back and buy a core unit I really want and of some bland infantry.

Yup best time to reorganize your core is during the deploy phase. Just click the unit you want to disband, instead of deploying it on to the map, press 'D' hotkey.

Glad to hear I am not alone in (still) playing the Mac version. I used to have the same problem. I bought Panzer Corps Gold for Mac in 2017 I think and the version I downloaded then had the same issue. I was unable to disband units in the deployment screen. There is a bug in the initial/earlier version for Mac which prevents the user from disbanding units in the deployment screen.

I would say your issue is most likely the same - i.e. that you are running an old version of the Mac game. You need to get the version called v1.30a.
