Tutorial Mission No 5 - How to cross rivers w/o Engineers

New Player - Tutorial Mission No 5 - How to cross rivers w/o Engineers/bridges - in the Mission Briefing - you have to follow the road - but how to do that when there seems no way to cross rivers as you have no bridges/engineers -

And I am aware that additional infantry appears east of the main river shown in the image above but they cannot progress towards the Supply objective either - Please see screenshot

Hmm, it's hard to give advice without seeing more of the map. I played it once and I do remember it should not be too much of a puzzle to get to any of the objective hexes. Have you captured every hex you can get to? Maybe more troops will spawn once you do? I just checked and I don't have a save game left, if I have time I'll try to quickly go through the previous scenarios and take a look.
