Game Suddenly Laggy

I don't know if it is related to the latest Steam updates (there were two - one on Sun 30th and another today on Mon 31st) but after those updates my game is suddenly laggy. I mean that when I try to move my cursor it just lags and then will move after a second. Not all the time but quite often. Combat and movement on the field also lags at times.. I haven't changed anything in the game or on my PC.

Has this happened to anyone else? What is going on?

1 - Please hit SHIFT+Q and let us know the framerate you are getting.

2 - What screen(s) does this manifest on?

3 - Does it improve if you run in Windowed mode?

Happend to me recently (ATI/Radeon user). Check your graphic card drivers. After an update everything worked fine again.

I am using an Acer Nitro laptop (2019) with i5 8th generation and NVidia GeForce GTX graphics card. Win 10. As I said, up until a few days ago there were no problems.

I just updated my NVidia drivers now but the lag is still there. When units start to move the game freezes sometimes.

Exact specs:

NVidia GTX 1050 Ti
i5 8300H

No, non Steam version. Graphics card is Intel in house HD Graphics 620.

Can you guys check the error.log output in Documents/My Games/FieldOfGlory2 to see if anything is spamming error logs (which can cause slowdowns).

Where in the game are you seeing these lags? Is it when doing an action vs just scrolling etc.

It should be noted, this happens when I play the TT Mod(I do not play vanilla FOG 2 at all).
Hope this helps(as an aside, the choppiness in video and audio doesn't seem to happen nearly as much since I first posted but still occasionally).

I should also note this happens on the main map battle screen and on the pre battle army selection screen(the video choppiness, no audio issue on pre battle army selection screen).

I don't have the TT mod so two completely different cases with the same problem!

...as I think of it, I believe there was a Microsoft update just before this choppiness started. Don't know if this is relevant.

Personally, I think it is related to an update. We had another Steam update today. Yes, a few Windows updates as well.

For me, I think it was related to the power settings on Windows 10. A friend recommended putting it on high performance. You can also use game optimisers with some antivirus packages. It puts all the focus on your game rather than background programs.. can reduce lag and improve performance!
