Modded Hotseat?

Hello,

I've been trying to play Hotseat mod with mods, mainly because I want to toy around with mods a bit, but it doesn't appear to work. Whenever I press the Hotseat button if I have a mod loaded, the game sends me right back to the menu. Is Hotseat simply not supported, or is this some kind of bug?

Any help would be appreciated.

My understanding is that neither hot-seat or multiplayer works with mods.
I understand why server-games do not, but hot-seat on the same PC should be made possible.
