Gameplay bug (Battle ends with Defeat Turn 7)
Love OoB but:
Playing Red Star Rostov. On Turn 7 I get battle end as Defeat even though I've met all conditions of the battle: I’ve just cleared Rostov of German forces and have not lost Stalino or Voroshilograd. The battle should be continuing but instead ends as Defeat, Turn 7. No mods installed and updated to most recent version.

Hi, what platform/version are you using? (PC/Mac/Steam, Gog/Slith/game version)?
Do you have a savegame from that playthrough?

I'm on PC, Win10, fully updated. AMD system. Slitherine Version.
Been playing several campaigns to date without a problem. This is the first bug I've encountered.
I'm trying to upload the previous turn save here but getting: ERROR

Ahh, sorry for the hassle, it may be due to your low postcount that attachments don't work for you (yet). I talk to folks to enable them, but as it's summer it may take a bit.

I opened a ticket with support ([Ticket#2020082110000087] problem with Order of Battle) and Paulo just replied, so I've sent him the save file by email and asked him to fwd to you - or maybe you request it?
If you play through the turn, moving Soviet forces out of Rostov to start mopping up the retreating Germans, at turn end you'll get Defeat.

Thanks to Paulo I received your save and was able to test it.
I do get a defeat after playing one turn as well, but there is a large gap in your front and Stalino is completely unguarded, so the AI has been able to take this location. Pls see this pic:
Since the objective requires to never lose those objective hexes it causes an instant defeat if they are not owned by the player anymore, so as far as I can see it's not a bug.

As an addition, there are still free CP displayed for you. Using those you could just deploy a ground unit at Stalino before you hit end turn.
Your resources are low, but one infantry unit might help if the AI attack is not too strong (I didn't lift the FOW to check this).
This should enable to stop the AI move towards Stalino, so you can just continue this playthrough.

Hmm, that's interesting. I'm pretty sure that Stalino wasn't taken in my playthrough, though. I had withdrawn forces to protect it. Might be wrong; in the heat of battle anything's possible.
Will give it another play and let you know.

Oh goddammit, you're right! I'd completely mistaken Stalino for Stakhanov! Put my defending forces around the wrong damn town!
I guess it's the firing squad for me, or the gulags at best.
Sorry for that and for wasting your time. At least it's not a bug, just an incompetent general. This is such a fine game.

You're not the first player to get a bit lost on the vast Russian steppes
