Unable to buy Artillery - AO 1939 Czechslovakia

I am not offered any German artillery to buy. Only captured ones from SCW and no transports. I had selected Denied Artillery in SCW but for AO 1939, I did not. Yet I am still denied buying German artillery. I think it maybe a bug.

Tried restart AO 1939 and re import the SWC core units to overcome the bug without success. I don't think I can play AO 1939 without being able to buy or upgrade the three artillery units from SCW. Disappointing. Hopefully a fix will come around soon.

Do you have custom army option enabled to buy units on the 1st map? or have you picked retrograde?

Could it be some arty just isnt available because of March 1939 date?

That's good to hear, but given Czechoslovakia specifically has you put your flying artillery into reserve (no airfields) and asks you to deploy extra normal artillery to help suppress and force retreat... Definitely would be good to have arty purchase options.

What does the purchase screen for artillery look like for people having issues in the Czech scenario? Are there just no arty available at all, except captured imports from Spain? Good thing imported COREs preserved captured equipment stockpiles, heheh.

I'm hearing a lot of talk about traits coming up, denied artillery and retrograde could be problematic?

And when you imported, did you import from Spain, and in Spain, you had the 'denied artillery' trait?

I assume for 1939, you did not repick denied artillery, because you have normal access after scenario 1.

Kerensky, correct, I had denied artillery in Spain and after I imported from SCW I did not choose denied artillery for 1939. Fortunately, I had 5 artillery in SCW which was plenty for scenario 1.

I choose start a new game, and imported my SCW core units. Did not choose Denied Artillery. No custom army options selected.

To test, I choose start new game without imports, and I can see 4 types of German Artillery are available to purchase.

I will play through Czechoslovakia and see whether the "bug" is gone in the second AO 1939 scenario.

Possible workaround:

In SCW I chose Denied Artillery trait so finished the campaign with 3 units of artillery.

Started new AO campaign and imported units. Did not choose Denied Artillery trait for AO.

Was unable to purchase new artillery units; only could purchase from captured stock, and without transport.

Was however able to upgrade current three units to new stock.

So possible workaround is to purchase captured artillery, then upgrade to new artillery. This also allows you to add transport.


Clarification. Started new campaign and this didn't work ... well not entirely. You cannot purchase or upgrade to new German units. You can purchase and upgrade current captured units with new land transport. Things go back to normal at start of 2nd scenario.

Had the same issue - second mission was able to buy artillery once again
