Woahh, I agree with Imeror: these last pages have been taken by the French :)
Nice, I like that, a lot of new ideas for the French roster, which was in need of attention. Thanks a lot for the data pics, and icons :)

Not a bad idea. I am really looking forward to start to work with some historical battles. But, for the moment, I don't want make any promise. Soon I will let you know guys what am I working for the next phase of Modern Conflicts.
Imeror wrote: Mon Aug 10, 2020 7:50 pm By the way, a little message for Akkula : I'm new on this forum and I've began to try Panzer corps mods a few days ago with your Modern Conflict and McGuba's BGE. I'd like to say that your work are very well done, both of them seem to be make by a team of professional. Thanks to you, my first contact with PC's mods is excellent, and I want to finish them as soon as possible to discover the work of other modders. Great work, I hope that you will continue to expand Modern Conflict.
Thanks for your kind words Imeror!. I really appreciate it. I am still pushing to improve all the aspects of the mod, is a very addictive hobby for me
The Modern Conflict team is very small: during the first year I had the help from phcas, he made a lot of trucks and UI icons, not to mention the great missile animation for the aircrafts :D . Also, the units flag idea came from him. He is welcomed to come back anytime obviously :D (but I know he has his hands full with the PAK-Mod).
This year I received massive help from Estherr, he is beta testing all mod updates before the release and he is contributing a LOT of new ideas. Also, he sent me lots of ideas for the units balance which I think it helped a lot to give more diversity to the mod. And I have to mention that the multiplayer beta testing of the South Atlantic '82 scenario was very fun :P

Best regards,
Akkula.

Operation Daguet is the participation of the French army in the international coalition formed following Iraq's invasion of Kuwait in the Gulf War in 1990-1991.
I can perfectly imagine a grand scenario based on the Gulf War ; most vehicles used in this war is already in this mod. I hope that Akkula will consider doing it one day or another.

Hello Akkula.
Italy also has good units: Bersaglieri, marine commandos, mountain troops (Alpini) and armoured (Ariete models). A Russian plan (I don't remember which one) was to invade Italy via Austria or Slovenia. I'm French but my father is an Italian (born in Sicily). French roster comes from a game: WINSPMBT (by the Camo Workshop) = WINdows Steel Panther Modern Battle Tank. This game has an incredible library from 1946 to 2025. All nations are represented. The game is free and downloadable on the site: just type Shrapnel Games winspmbt on Google.
France takes the lead

Thank you Akkula for your future update.

It would be good if in your NATO scenarios you would allow to recruit a French, Italian or other contigent from the start.
This would give diversity and greater replayability.

What do you think of a Desert Storm campaign?
I'm putting the pressure on you but it's your fault, you got us used to such beautiful things

Hi Yves!,
Yeah the NATO campaign starting core composition is a big issue. Mostly because of the units availability of nations like France and UK: they do not have too many tanks and vehicles to have an average upgrade progression.
The French would go straight into the Leclerc tank and that is, same for the British, Challenger 2 and end of story. And that is not a mod lack of diversity, in real life the French and British do have only one tank variant :|
I will have to think something else to improve this situation.... But for sure I will not add Italy (or any other NATO nation I am planning to make) as part of the NATO campaign as that would be a major impact on the scenario balance and design.

About the Desert Storm campaign, I say patience, I am in the middle of the developing of some new ideas, not to mention the creation of TONS of new units :D (we are talking of dozens and dozens). Give me some time, I don't want to say no, quite the opposite I want to please all the request from the community, but I also don't want to give you false promises :)

Massive thanks for your support and compliments :D

Fulfilling the request from our French friends, I added the Foreign Legion infantry unit 8)
And more naval stuff for the French Navy.... and a reworked icon for the AMX-30 along with some variants: orginal AMX-30, AMX-30B2 and AMX-30B2 BRENUS:

And more units for the Italian roster:

Tomorrow I will make an annoucement about the next big update for Modern Conflicts.

Hehe, yeah. I think Spain and Italy are the last countries to have some operational Harriers nowadays. The F-35 is going to replace them in next few years, time say goodbye to those iconic birds.

Hello Akkula
I see Iraqi tanks. It seems to me that it is ... ... the Gulf War (Desert Storm). There are no oil fields, too bad! I could have filled the tank of my Hummer *laughs* ! Great, more playing time. Thanks for your work and your mod.
Greetings from France.
