A basic question.

Post by DenBlack »

Hi. Must we always log into Steam to play Panzer Corps 2 or can we start the game from our own drive without logging into Steam ? I guess we will be able to play "Steam-less" when we receive the CD of our game by mail in the coming weeks.

If you bought from Steam you have to log on to Steam to play.
If you bought from Slitherline, and got a Steam Key you can install the Sitherline version and ignore Steam.

On Steam you can go into offline mode, you still logon to Steam but it is local to your machine.
You can also turn off Cloud Storage on Steam, so your computer doesn't sit around waiting for the Computer/Cloud sync to finish before you start.

Thank you. All is clear. So when I will receive the game from Slitherine (I bought the Marshal Edition) I will be able to install it on my drive and open it directly like any other game, without having to log into Steam. Will I have to start my grand campaign all over again ? Or can I download my saved games from the Steam cloud?

Your saved games are on your local drive: Documents>my games>panzerCorps 2> saves
Steam Cloud syncs with that folder.
It allows you to play your campaign on multiple computers via cloud syncing all computers using your Steam account.

The saves on your computer should be seen by both Steam and Slitherline installs.
Note Steam auto updates and Sitherline does not so check game version when you start Siltherline.
