egyptian interpenetrations

Post by marco »

maybe it's a silly question but...:

with the middle kingdom list, you can interpenetrate the bowmen with the close -figting troops

is it possible to interpenetrate nubians bowmen ?

heard that sometime they were incorporated as regular troops

(so why not drilled ? , ' make my job to save the nubians)

i'm bit disapointed that ligt spear are free point for the foot
thanks for an answer

marco (i was at the same tournament than olivier and i think taht he missed the first place because of me  )

Would be helpful if the lists capitalized troop names in the special rules, but if you look at the Libyan Egyptian list p 55 it says "Egyptian close fighters can interpenetrate Egyptian archers," referring to troops named "Egyptian close fighters" and "Egyptian archers". Libyan bowmen are out of luck.

Assuming the same methodology applies to the same troops throughout the lists, in the OKMKE and NKE lists it is "close fighters" and "archers", both of which are specific core troop names. There are various other types who have "archers" in their name, but I think "archers" just means those listed as "archers".

thanks for the answer mike (and thanks as well for your job on fog)

i start to analyse it in the same way

but it means at the end that the "elite "close fighter " can't interpenetrate

I think "close fighter" in that list must refer to both "Close fighters with one-handed eye-axe or club" and "Elite close fighters with 2-handed eye axe" due to lack of space on the page. The only sensible meaning is the Egyptians.

It is interesting to think about how to make this tactic work.

Cheers,

Mike
