Loading problem, Empires and FOGII

Post by Lawson27 »

Both Empires and FOGII are failing to load. On Steam, both up to date. On loading from Steam initial loading screen comes up, when launched from there I just get a blank screen and it locks.
I have tried uninstalling and re-installing Empires with same result.

How can I fix this please?

It looks like it is failing to find a video card, or at least one which can support the game. What are your system specs?

Cheers

Pip
Not sure what info may be relevant so please give me a steer. If it's the video card then I've not had this problem on anything else.
Thanks for your help

How to get a DirectX Diagnostic file:

1. click on "START"
2. click "run"
3. type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice

We prefer that DxDiag files be posted as message attachments rather than pasted into the body of the post.

once the report has been made, just zip the file then attach it to your post as it's a Txt file which is then not permitted to attach to the forum, where as a zip file is.
might help more tbh

you have a dual GPU system, you need to update all drivers and then tell the game, yes any which one that can't find the correct card, which one is the default

Code: Select all

Thanks for your help. Following your lead, I removed a hub which included the second graphics device and this seems to have fixed the issue.

if you update the drivers, you also won't have many issue later on in any games, without the USB device installed, plugged in etc, thanks for the reply and glad your sorted
