Current Tournament Issues

Hi,

The reason why this is a "Test Tournament" is that it's the first one we've run, so is a good chance to find those weird issues that we hadn't seen before.

So far we've spotted two:

1. If you are logged into PBEM with a username that has different case characters to your stored username (e.g. if I was logged in as "shards" rather than "Shards", then your game will end in an insta-draw).
   • Workaround - Ensure that you log in with the same username as you have saved on the system! If you ever get the "DRAW" screen appearing unexpectedly, ALT-F4 the game and reboot using the correct login.
2. For some matches, the scores are being shown on the scoreboard as 0-0 instead of the true score. This is only happening when one of the players has sent their turns, not the other.
   • Workaround - None currently, we're investigating, but we don't think it will affect the final game results as long as the matches finish appropriately. We'll manually change any scores that finish wrong.
   • How to Help - If you have a match that is showing this (i.e. you've played a few turns, but the leaderboard shows 0-0) please let me know here

Im playing duel with player "Melcafist" and our overall scores on page is still 0 - 0 instead of the true score after few turns.

Yes, this is issue 2 from the list above.

You'll notice that your scores are displayed properly when one of you is holding the turns but not the other.

Can I ask, are you on Windows or Mac and are you playing via Installer, Steam or GOG?

Im playing via Steam. I saw our right scores on page, but for very short time....now its 0 - 0.

I do not understand you so much for this sentence: "ou'll notice that your scores are displayed properly when one of you is holding the turns but not the other."
Im finishing my turns by click on button that says like a: ....end my turn and send turn... after that im logged out from duel to multiplayer board.

I'm actually reassured by the score glitch. I was worried the majority of players were bots or something, although the fact Eric2 is amongst the zero point crowd would indicate bots have evolved drastically whilst not paying attention!

for your info: Trouble seems only when I end turn - after that, results on page leaderboard are deleted. When my opponent end turn, leaderboard is ok.

Yeah, I have a the issue in reverse (fine when I submit, gone when opponent does).

We're exploring to try and figure out why it only affects a few people (and why this issue didn't show up at all in our testing!)

I had a bug on my last round of one of the games where I had 100 RP, bought an infantry for 40 RP, and ended up for some reason with close to 0 RP. So I quit the game and rejoined to re-do the round, and it worked fine. Not sure what caused this...

I'm not sure.. I don't think so? Just remember clicking quickly to make the purchase, but ended up with just 1 unit and almost 0 RP. Sorry to be unhelpful, I just mentioned it in case it could be related to multiplayer issues, but probably something on my side.

On another topic, I got 104 points for one of the rounds- that doesn't sound right? I thought 100 was the max.

I got 104 on my last turn but it reset to 100 when posted.

I am playing SturmannBlut and I took my FIRST turns on 7/27/2020 at 5Am and 6:27 AM. But the match state is Waiting for other player(s) turn. I am wondering is there is anything wrong.

Only if you consider winning by default when the other player doesn't take their turns wrong Seems like the timeout login glitch is fixed too, haven't seen it in the last couple days. Good work!

i had that time out login issue right before I made my previous post. It was the first and only time I ever encountered it. But the next time I tried to log in I was successful.

You've actually managed to find an obscure edge case in that scenario Which I'll have fixed for the next patch. My guess is that you should have finished on 96 points. We'll need to do some manual points fixing to adjust those players who lost out due to the username bug, so you might find that you drop a couple of points before the next round

Yeah, there's just a good chance that your opponent just hasn't played or didn't see the Tournament start email (which is why I sent round the reminder PM )
