Login Difficulties

I have just started to play in the new automated torunament and I am having trouble logging in. Although I have succcessfully logges in a few times (2 or 3?) the majority of attempts are met with an erroro message (attached below), telling me that my login attempt has timed out.

I haven't sufferent this problem with FoG or FoG2 or Sanctus reach, it's just OOB.

Can you pelase advise?

Same problem here. Over the last few weeks logins seem to fail more than not. The folks I play with confirm that logging in is an inconsistent endeavor, but it's been horrible for me. I've been unable to log on to PBEM for a full day now. I get the dreaded "request timed out" message. Tried dozens of times. Restarted, rebooted, repented - nothing works.

Of course as SOON as I posted this I was able to get in When I do - I STAY in as long as possible.

Yikes I was assuming it was just me and my garbage internet... Exactly the same issue. Not entirely a new problem but definitely getting worse.

About every 3rd logins results in an error here as well.

Is there likely to be a solution, Erik? It isn't 1 in 3 for me, I haven't been able to login at all today, and I can only imagine my opponenet is getting impatient.

Someone from tech solution hopefully should see this thread.
There's a test tournament just started, the login issues may be connected to this. Just guessing, though.

Hi,

As said elsewhere, logins are taking far too long at the moment. We're investigating and hope to find a fix on the server. If not, we'll have to find a way to put out a new client patch to assist with this.

Ten tries with no joy this afternoon. Had to give up. Can't play if I can't get in. Any progress/timetable on this issue?

Hi,

We're putting a patch out this week that will increase the timeout on the client, which should help somewhat. The main issue is a very long authentication delay on the server though. We're upgrading that to a new version in early Sept which should fix it properly.

Just for the record, it was terrible at about 1800 GMT 5 Aug for a couple of hours.

Yeap, me and the regular multiplayer gang are all having similar problems in the last couple of weeks. Often so bad we give up of an evening and reschedule our planned sessions.
