Since i am absolutely terrible at understanding how the editor works, and thus can't really check all sorts of interesting stuff, i kept being stuck with a question.
So i completed Battle of the Ebro, and got the bonus objective to hold all objectives at the end of the mission. Though i don't think i received a reward for it? At least i didn't get a pop-up screen giving me a commendation point (which i guess would be useless by now but still). So then after the mission you get the choice to go to Catalonia. But it doesn't seem apparent why i get to go there. Is it available if you get all the objectives in the previous mission? Would be helpful also for others what the criteria are for getting this mission and whether it's related to the Battle of the Ebro, since you don't seemingly get a reward for finishing the secondary.
Thanks!

Catalonia is an optional mission for all who want it.
I believe after the complaints in the main campaign over paying to take the non historical path they won't have that 'feature' in the DLCs.

Ah, so not getting a reward at the battle of the Ebro must be a bug then, i'll list it there. Still confused about the mission though, who would not take it?? XD I can only think of people who thoroughly had enough of this game, but feel compelled to finish it would skip it. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
Re: Confused about Catalonia / Battle of the Ebro
My thinking is that the main argument for the mission is the 2 CP that you get for the objectives over the risk of prestige cost from running another mission. It really doesn't make much sense to me either, as Catalonia is not too hard to come out in the positive on with Prestige. Compared to Ebro it's a breeze. It's also got a nice, unique hook compared to all the other missions, so you'd miss that entirely different experience by skipping it.NightPhoenix wrote: ↑Sat Jul 25, 2020 8:17 am Ah, so not getting a reward at the battle of the Ebro must be a bug then, i'll list it there. Re: Confused about Catalonia / Battle of the Ebro
Also, if it's your first time and you don't know what the mission is about, you don't even know how hard it is. It's like you watch a 1 hour movie, and at minute 40 the movie asks: "do you want to watch the next 10 minutes?" If not, skip here!
Anyways, don't you get 1 point? I got really confused, because killing 10 trucks got me a recommendation point, but at 30 it just ends the mission. Which again makes no sense. This game....
Cause i thought like this: 10 trucks = 1 point then two things can happen-> you run out of time = victory and you can kill 30 = victory. So you always get the 1 commendation point. If you get less than 10 trucks you lose and it's game over.
Wouldn't it make sense to get another point, or the only point at 30 trucks? It's like: kill 10 trucks: "whoaa good job" kill 30 trucks: "meh".

Interestingly, I got 1 CP for Catalonia and indeed expected the second will be granted for taking care of 30 transports, but that actually does not happen.P5138 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 25, 2020 2:28 pmMy thinking is that the main argument for the mission is the 2 CP that you get for the objectives over the risk of prestige cost from running another mission. Really? I didn't keep track. I only needed the first CP to get the last cache, so I wasn't paying attention to my CP after that.Tassadar wrote: ↑Sat Jul 25, 2020 3:30 pmInterestingly, I got 1 CP for Catalonia and indeed expected the second will be granted for taking care of 30 transports, but that actually does not happen.P5138 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 25, 2020 2:28 pmMy thinking is that the main argument for the mission is the 2 CP that you get for the objectives over the risk of prestige cost from running another mission. Maybe there's a bug when a bonus objective ends a mission? The debriefing activates before the commendation point gets added?
Re: Confused about Catalonia / Battle of the Ebro
Possibly - just did a check on the same save and got an identical result. Wento into the scenario with 1CP (due to possible Ebro side objective bug), got 1 for 10 transports, but no separate award for 30, so I'm now at 2 CP - confirmed by the fact that Madrid 39 award option to spend CP does not pop up.P5138 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 25, 2020 3:44 pmReally? Re: Confused about Catalonia / Battle of the Ebro
I would point out that Catalonia is a minor little diversion of a battle, 'unworthy' as a follow up to the great Battle of the Ebro.
By making it optional the issue of whether it fits into the flow of the campaign goes away.
It now stands a nice diversion between the two big battles, if you don't want the diversion, just bypass it.
With not having Decisive Victories It in PzC1 they make 'Bonus' battles like 'Spoils of War' or 'Taranto Raid' an option instead of a bonus.
