I was just restarting the SCW with a view to carrying this core onto the next DLC (if i can do the Beta for that) and i had a thought. If the DLC's are all linked do you carry over player Traits each time or do you start again with each DLC. As the SPC has very key Traits will they be workable in the future. or do you take a hit now for future gains etc.
Any views?
Martin.

The AO DLCs are all linked, your core does carry over.
You can change traits each DLC, So keeping Traits for whole campaign, or adjusting for each DLC are both options.
The only issue is that RulesAxisOperations blocks InfantryGeneral and DeadlyGrasp for reasons that apply mainly to SCW.
If local Rules files were placed under their individual campaign folders it wouldn't be a problem, but right now they will apply to AO1939 as well.

I'm 100% sure 1939 will have a separate overriding Rules. Json like SWC does. So this will not a problem. Already future proofed.dalfrede wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 4:08 pm The AO DLCs are all linked, your core does carry over.

I assume it will as well,nexusno2000 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 6:52 pm I'm 100% sure 1939 will have a separate overriding Rules. Json like SWC does. So this will not a problem. Already future proofed.
but SCW does not have it's own rules file, the new rules file is called RulesAxisOperations.json .
In PzC1 modified rules file are under each DLC directory and only applies to a single DLC subcampaign.
RulesAxisOperations.json is in the main Data directory so would apply to all AO DLCs .

The real point is that under Scenario Parameters the custom Rules file is defined.dalfrede wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 7:43 pmI assume it will as well,nexusno2000 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 6:52 pm I'm 100% sure 1939 will have a separate overriding Rules. Yes, it is set to RulesAxisOperations.json (where RulesAxisOperationsSCW.json would be better), but there is no reason it cannot be made to RulesAxisOperations1939.json for Poland.
In my SCW mod, I point it to RulesAxisOperationsGK.json and it works fine.

Btw I've petitioned Rudankort for a similar link to a custom units file.
That would make unit modding a lot easier.
