im playing scw for the first time. im on the scenario and ive earned command points for the bonus objectives from the first scenario however i cant figure out how to apply them during the campaign. i dont see an option to go to that "stat" screen. so question is, how do i use these points mid campaign? tks.

What is the Commendation Point system?

One complaint about the traditions of Panzer General and Panzer Corps is the lack of mission variety. We've all seen maybe a bit too much of 'Capture all Victory Hexes' by now, we think.

While we’ll still make appropriate use of this mission type occasionally, players will also see a lot more objective variety moving forward. Missions types such as rescue, escort, interception, mine laying, and others have been spread out across the campaign.

And the way we've balanced this is by bringing back Degrees of Victory. Rather than have every mission be a binary 'win or lose', we've added more variety. Every scenario has a basic objective that you must complete to progress the campaign. This is the lowest degree of victory though, and is suitably easy to achieve.

However.

If you really want to see some very unique rewards and bonuses, you'll want to push yourself to accomplish the far more difficult and varied bonus objectives.

We've even implemented a new currency system to handle this interaction. As you complete bonus objectives, you’ll earn Commendation Points. At various points in the campaign, offers will be made to players who have earned enough Commendation Points... offers of fantastic bounties of captured equipment, special prototype units, and possibly even access to famous and legendary historical aces and officers of the war.

IF this is your problem ;

There isn't a menu you go to where you spend commendation points WHEN and WHERE you see fit.

Instead , opportunities to spend your commendation points are scripted into the game to occur at various points during the campaign.

For example , if I remember correctly , you get a pop up at the end of the second scenario , or beginning of the third scenario , to spend or not spend the commendation points you acquired in the first and second scenarios.

To put it another way ; You don't get to spend commendation points WHEN YOU see fit. Instead , you get to spend commendation points WHEN THE GAME sees fit.

You won't have to wait long. What might be more frustrating than the wait to spend your commendation points might be the WHAT you get to spend your commendation points on when the opportunity is presented.

For example , my first opportunity to spend commendation points was an offer to buy a stockpile of Russian tanks and other equipment. The trouble was , it didn't say what the other equipment was , or what kind of Russian tanks , or , most importantly , how large or how small the stockpile was.

I would love to get a stockpile of 30 or 40 Trubia tanks , but not 12 Trubia tanks. My German tankettes may be piss - poor , but at least I can re - supply them adequately if necessary. But here , I simply don't know. So I passed on the offer .

Also , if I remember correctly , the amount of commendation points you have so far acquired is listed on that top bar , middle of screen , the same bar on which is listed your core slots , air , rail , or sea transports , and auxiliary slots .

I think this is something they should sticky , or craft their own version and sticky that. But I suppose they have many things to do otherwise , and / or I don't run things around here.

That link is already in the sticky, it's just at the bottom.

As for crafting proper versions.... well it's clear that didn't happen. So I expect the same thing to happen as did with the original Grand Campaign. As the Axis Operations near completion, I will hire and commission artists myself to get the job done.
