Can skirmishers such as LF Javelins/Spear charge a HF BG ?

Post by Keith »

Can skirmishers such as LF Javelins/Spear charge a HF BG in the flank while the HF is fighting ( assuming they pass a CMT )?

If so does the impact take place at ++ for the LF and -- for the HF ?

Yes and no.

If LH then: Yes, they can, provided they pass a CMT to do so. (Page 60 second bullet point.)
If LF then:
No, they can't in the open, not even into the flanks or rear.
Yes, they can if the heavies are in terrain.
(See page 60, 1st bullet point).

If you are allowed to charge (i.e. if the heavies are in terrain) you get the usual ++ for a flank or rear attack (but may still end up with less dice then your target.)

Thanks , as I thought , but I get confused :)

I was tempted with my LH , but it was a lost cause so the LH moved off to avoid and cohesion tests.

From another perspective this should read:

"I was tempted with my LH, but it was a lost cause so they ran away like cowardly currs"

Ghaz, The rule you mentioned says light horse do not need to pass a CMT to charge non-skirmishers in the flank or rear - only from the front. "(unless charging their flank or rear)"
