SCW #1: Sevilla bonus objective bug?

Post by DocTsiolkovski »

Hi all,

I've occupied all Sevilla hexes, even the reg airfield and Dos Hermanas, since turn 13, but the bonus is not acchieved. Did I misinterpret the instruction ('garrison' = put a unit of that type there) or is this an outright bug?
Do you also have to capture the hex with an AoA infantry?

The problem is that the scenario cannot be won because of that. I was prepared because the same behavior can be seen in Night Phoenix' Play-through (after 30sec).
Luckily, one can fend of the Eastern counterattacks, but if you overstretch because you expect the scenario will end once you capture the Auxillary Airifield, you'll be in deep trouble...

Thanks.

It already triggered.

Look for this message appearance, not a change in the objective panel.

Thanks, must have missed that. By the way, where do you find the number of recommendations points you have?

So, it is intended that the scenario will always go the full 18 turns, and you get zero prestige / turn (and would also get zero if you win prematurely)? All doable, but rather unexpected.

It depends. Some scenarios it ends as soon as you take the last victory hex, others you must wait until the conclusion of the final turn. How do you know at the outset? The victory conditions will say something like, "Control and hold all victory hexes" vs. "capture all victory hexes." The first you must maintain control of them until the end of the Republican's last turn, so beware! (I'm looking at you, Teruel! Lost that scenario the first time by way of enemy counterattack on their final turn!)

Commendation point totals are only displayed in a special pop-up window when you earn them (complete a bonus objective) and when you use them. They are not to be found on demand anywhere else. However, if this feature is to continue in future DLCs, adding that ability isn't a bad idea.

Prestige per turn is reserved for pure defensive missions, such as Battle of the Ebro.

And yes, some missions do linger after all objectives are complete, for two reasons:

1. Give extra time to clean up bonus objectives. You wouldn't want the mission to end when primary is complete, and miss out on bonuses.
Any mission where this exists (Bilbao, Gijon) explicitly say you must accomplish bonus first, because primary objectives will end the mission on the spot.

2. Give enemy chance to counterattack. Seville and Antequera both start the DLC with reinforcement attack waves that must be dealt with, or they will recapture some of your objectives. These are not true defensive missions, hence no prestige per turn, but they are combination missions. You attack, engage with bonus objectives, and then also need to defend from the enemy reaction.
