Division C
devoncop (Andalucian 756AD with Spanish allies) beat SpeedyCM (Dailami 928 with Armenian allies) by 61% to 39%.
In my final game of the season in this Division the Andalucians managed to pull back a dodgy looking position as their superior infantry finally made it back from the right where they had initially been strung out in a poor deployment just in time to rescue their centre which was under huge pressure from the victorious Dailami right. A substantial wide flanking attempt by Dailami Cavalry around the now vacated Andalucian right was just blocked by light lancers and skirmishing archers long enough to ensure victory.
Thanks to my opponent for a tough match.

TomoeGozen (Armenian (Tigranes) with Pontic Allies) beat hyme (Saka) 40 -7.
A battle field full of rough terrain , enclosures and woods did the Saka no favours allowing my light and medium infantry to move about the area at very little risk and making it difficult for the slippery horse archers to ..er... slip ...
Thanks for the interesting game Hyme.

Division D
SawyerK (Pyrrhic 280-275 BC with Samnite allies) defeated Rob123 (Carthaginian, Hannibal in Africa 202 BC with Numidian allies) by 44-10.
The Pyrrhic Samnite troops feverishly held off a sweep of the Carthaginian cavalry on their right flank while advancing their own cavalry on their left. Some fortunate flank attacks developed for the Pyrrhic army after pushbacks on both sides and that led to the victory.

Division D
rs2excelsior (Viking, Ireland 900-1049 AD with Scots 851-1051 AD allies) beat Rob 123 (Sassanid Persian 591-628 AD with Arab, Bedouin 300-636 AD allies) 60-46
The Sassanids brought a formidable force, with lancers, cataphracts, and elephants. The Vikings didn't have enough ranged firepower to deal with the Persian elephants that way, so brought along several units of axe huscarls, and some spear huscarls to hold the flank against the Persian cavalry. After initial skirmishing the lines collided in a massive, drawn-out melee, with the Viking left pushed up ahead of their right, where the Persian cavalry threat was greatest. The Viking cavalry was seen off (seems to be a theme in these games...) while the huscarls fought a desperate action against the massive Persian war elephants. The Sassanids had local successes, especially against the Irish auxiliaries, but the elephants were sent stampeding away from the fight, and the Persian infantry line crumbled shortly thereafter. However, the Vikings had no cavalry to chase down the masses of Persian horse and light troops still on the field. Viking shieldwalls and huscarls chased the more nimble troops, in a few cases getting a lucky evade which allowed a second unit to charge in and pin the enemy unit, which allowed them to squeak a probable draw into a win near the end of the game.
The battlefield at the end of the game. You can see the rough line of the initial clash from the casualties, as the Viking line had split up to chase cavalry. Good game to my opponent, and bad luck with the elephants! I think that tipped it over.
