Secondary fleet ships not saving XP

Hello,

I just started playing and I've noticed that after a few difficult battles that the XP earned by craft in my second fleet are not being saved, each is reverting to a rookie with 0 XP after the conflict. I noticed one other thread on steam with the same issue but there was no resolution.

I broke apart my secondary fleet and reformed it around a new ship. This seemed to work as a workaround and this "new" fleet now saves XP after each battle.
