Multiplayer mechanics?

Post by kronenblatt »

1. When replaying the opponent's turn once my own turn is again commencing, will I see also my opponent's trial moves (i.e., the ones made and subsequently regretted), or only the final moves? (Asking more if my opponent will see MY trial moves...)
2. Between turns (i.e., when it's my opponent's turn), can I enter an ongoing game and just look at the current situation?

Yes, you see them messing around with their units on the replay.

No, you can only access the game when it is your turn (other than to see your old moves from previous turn).

See you on the battlefield soon, K!

Thanks for quick reply, SL!

1. Too bad... Or good...
2. So I can actually watch my moves from the previous turn? That's good enough for me: how do I do that?
3. Yep, soon because now I jumped the hurdle but have so far not made contact with my enemy (looking at you, MikeC_81...)... So let's make a private battle after summer, end of July, shall we SL?

Honestly, it will all make sense once you start playing. If the turn hasn’t been taken by your enemy you can click on the turn in the opponent’s turn column.

No, you can't watch a replay of your own turns.

Ok: thanks Richard for answer. Can I view any current or historical status of the battlefield in an ongoing MP game other than when it's my own turn? If yes, how?

Actually I'm in the middle (or more correctly, beginning) of my first MP game, vs MikeC_81 in the tournament that he's arranging. Enjoying it a lot; also much more nerve when playing against a human than against the AI... :)

No.

You could perhaps take screenshots before ending your turn?

I know that feeling. I’d gotten relatively good vs the AI, hopped into the Digital League... the AI in this Game is pretty sharp, but still, you can get away with a lot of things against it that a player will absolutely hammer you for. In my third season now and I still feel like I’m learning!

Good idea: I'll do that going forward.

Actually I do that. It is useful when you want to figure out what just happened or just review to see how the strategy worked out. However from time to time, I will forget. Any chance of an option to automatically take a screenshot when you hit end turn?

Possibly. I will consider it. Although it might not be very useful - if you forget to take a screenshot you will probably also forget to zoom out so you can see everything.
