The map had high hills on both sides with a river flowing through the middle in low land. The armies met there. Unfortunately for the Armenians, their best units (cavalry) were constricted due to the terrain and the superior Palmyran infantry and cataphracts broke through their medium infantry. GG to my opponent!

So during deployment I had this hare-brained idea of somehow rushing that big hill to deny it to my opponent, completely ignoring the fact that I have no medium foot other than mass archers vs my opponent's bazillion irregular foot. Made it about 2 turns up the hill before I had my "what the hell am I doing" moment. Backed down the hill, then realized there wasn't enough turns left to swing my army to the right into the open for a proper fight. Ended up agreeing to a draw. Apologies to my opponent harveylh for the boring game.
