How does Supply work in MHCEAW Gold ?
Hi,
I just landed a huge Allied force on the beaches of France. All my units have supply 1. I have 4 ships on the coast next to the hexes of 4 units, still those units have supply 1. The next turn too their supply was 1. Wouldn't connected hexes from ships give supply to the units ? For example : Ship touching unit A who is touching unit B - would B too be supplied ?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Derek

Surface naval units (BB, CV and DD) only give supply level 1 (beachhead supply). The supply symbol is black. It doesn't matter how many ships
you have adjacent to a beach hex. You only need one and the supply won't increase because of having more naval units adjacent to the beach.
If you want to increase your supply level then you need to capture a port city. Port supply increases the supply level to 3 (the supply symbol is
half white and half black). Then all hexes connected to the port will get supply level 3.
If you capture a major power capital then your supply level is increased to 5 (no supply symbol). E. g. the Allies can capture Rome or Paris to
get supply level 5 for their units. Another major benefit from getting supply level 5 is that you can now RAIL units within the territory linked to
this supply source.
If you have no supply source at all when you land then you get supply level 0 (red supply symbol). You want to avoid this at all costs.
Remember that the number of steps you can repair each turn is the same as the supply level.

Hmmm... maybe it's different in the gold version, but in 1.07 the Axis do not appear to get '5' suppy from Paris, Moscow, or Perm. This is easy to check, because Axis units in the west of France get only '4' supply, not '5' (just as Axis units east of the Polish/Baltic States area drop to '4' supply, then '3' a little ways east of Moscow).Stauffenberg wrote:If you capture a major power capital then your supply level is increased to 5 (no supply symbol). It is certainly true that the Allies by liberating Paris get all the wonderful benefits of '5' supply.
Has anyone every seen a 2 supply? And if so, where?Diplomaticus wrote:Hmmm... maybe it's different in the gold version, but in 1.07 the Axis do not appear to get '5' suppy from Paris, Moscow, or Perm. I think Johan has to explain why this is happening. I know that the Allies get supply level 5 from Rome after they capture it and they also get supply level 5 from Paris. Maybe because they have no other supply sources on the same continent. Germany has a supply source in Berlin so I guess the supply is calculated from there so it doesn't help to grab another major power capital.Diplomaticus wrote:Hmmm... maybe it's different in the gold version, but in 1.07 the Axis do not appear to get '5' suppy from Paris, Moscow, or Perm. Ideally the Allies should only get supply level 3 from Rome (captured capital) and supply level 5 from Paris (liberated capital), but that doesn't happen. They get supply level 5 in both areas.
No, they don't because their supply source is Berlin. The Allies don't have a supply source elsewhere on the continent so the main source will then be Paris.
So, assuming the Germans held Moscow, units east of Moscow would get supply level 3 if they could trace their supply back to Berlin. But, if they got cut off from Berlin and could only trace supply back to Moscow would they get level 5?Stauffenberg wrote:I think Johan has to explain why this is happening. Thanks.Diplomaticus wrote:Aircraft get '2' supply when you stage them to islands (e.g. Cyprus or Crete). Actually, aircraft are never totally out of supply, so 2 may be their lower limit.rkr1958 wrote:Has anyone every seen a 2 supply? And if so, where?
