Larger armies right across the FOG2 Digital League?
We have discussed this before, about a year ago, in fact. This will be the last poll on this subject. If there is 70% or more in favour then larger 1600pt armies will be introduced in all sections of the Digital League in Season 9.

Here's a screenshot at the end of battle. I really need to remember to take screenshots of the moment of contact rather than of the bag of smashed assholes left over after the battle has been fought.pantherboy wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2020 3:55 pm Division A

I voted in favour but it will be a very interesting test of whether the more vocal forumites (who appear to be in favour given contributions on the subject) are reflective of the rest...m

pompeytheflatulent (German) beat Snugglebunnies (Vikings Ireland) 50-25.
Like I keep reminding myself, need to remember to take screenshots earlier. End of battle screenshot really don't tell a whole lot.

Division E
Stew101 (Arab Conquest 638 - 684AD) beat Stormcrow (Vikings 900 - 1049 AD). Score 41 to 8.
An absolutely terrible map for my opponent, wide opens spaces and a couple of large areas of rough ground.
Two units of Viking berserkers, contested the large central area of rough with Dailami and Bedouin MI for most of the game.
This allowed the Arabs to skirmish against one Viking wing, whilst the main Arab forces massed against the other Viking wing.
With nothing to anchor either flank to, the Arab LC became as good as cavalry lancers and they moved much quicker.
With the LC charging into their rear, the Viking cavalry had no where to go and they and their comrades entered Valhalla.
Thanks very much for the game Stormcrow.
Good luck in your other games and I hope the terrain is more favourable for you.
Regards Stew.

A real nail biter. Closed than the scores would suggest.

Re: Larger armies right across the FOG2 Digital League?
70% feels high to me. I am thinking that a 70% threshold is designed to minimize the loss of players. If it is desired to minimize player defection, 60% seems like a strong vote to at least add one more division to the 1600 point threshold, if not both. I'll sign up for my 4 divisions regardless.

Aetius39 - Macedonian 328-321 BC defeats grumpydaddy845 - Samnite 355-272 BC 64-42
The Macedonians blew a 12-0 lead and it was close to tied with the score being in the 40s for both sides. Although the pikes could smash through the Samnite one on one, they wisely used their numbers and ganged up on the Macedonians. Finally a lucky break from a rear cavalry charge broke up the center a bit, and the Macedonians managed to squeeze out a victory, although it could have gone either way near the end. Well-played by my opponent!

DanZanzibar (Carthaginian 235-146 BC with Spanish 300-10 BC allies) beat Geoffrey.P.Smith (Lydian 550-546 BC with Greek 680-461 BC allies) 49-0
If I had tried to design a map to advantage my army, I never would have made one as good as this. Geoff - it was brutally unfair from the start. ...and you sure didn't get lucky. I hope we get a chance to play again sometime soon on a much more level battlefield.

SpeedyCM - Median 626-550 BC defeats MikeMarchant - Greek Asiatic 550-461 BC 65-39.
I was a bit surprised by the result in this one as Mike looked to have the match well in hand in the middle stages.
Thanks for the game.
