Division E
DanZanzibar (Dailami 928-1055 AD with Armenian 885-1045 AD allies) beat Stormcrow (Viking 900-1049 AD) 33-4 (conceded defeat)
A narrow mountain pass funneled the entire battle through 6 or 7 squares across, pitting Viking Spears and Huscarls against Veteran Dailami Foot. My opponent was unlucky with the cohesion tests in this one.
Thanks for the match and good luck with the rest of yours.

Division D
Swuul (British 600-1030 AD with Viking 780-899 AD allies) beat General Shapur (Dailami 928-1055 AD with Armenian 885-1045 AD allies) 60-49
A rather flat map, with a rough hill to the right (seen from British perspective) and a patch of rough terrain slightly to the left of the center. I placed my Brythonics on the right, supported by Berserkers and some Spearmen, but I should never had done that -> the veteran dailami went through the brits like a hot knife through butter, and my whole right flank was wiped away way too fast (I really should have known better, the Dailami army is after all one of my favourite armies...). On the left flank the british cavalry beat up the dailami cavalry (the dailami had left their Ghilamis home, which I considered as a great blessing, as they are mean cavalry killers (I asked about this from General Shapur, and he said he thought the Ghilamis would have been of little use in a fight vs hordes of british infantry)), and then turned on towards center. In center the typical british dogpile was happening as british swarmed all over the place, and then the cavalry arrived to finish things up. Most of the veteran dailami from their flank didn't have time to get to the fracas before it was over (they might very well have won the battle, as they were in good health and they just are so damn good).
Thank you for the match General Shapur, good luck in your remaining matches!

Division C
devoncop (Etruscan 330BC with Samnite allies) beat MikeMarchant (R0man 199BC with Greek allies) by 44% to 18%
On a largely flat battlefield aside from woods to the Etruscan left the Romans heavily weighted their best quality troops on their right and the Etruscans were able to take advantage of the fact their light javlinmen were able to match the Roman Velites screening the Roman left long enough for the Etruscan and Samnite medium infantry to help put the Velites to flight whilst the left wing Roman Cavalry were kept away from the battleline by Hoplites and Raw legions.
Eventually, despite the Etruscan left fracturing it held long enough for the centre and right to overwhelm their Roman opposition.
Thanks to my opponent for a thought provoking contest.

Finally something to report........
rexhurley (Carthage ) defeats IMC (Samnites) 61/42
Samnites marched with perfect drill to a flank position in rough ground with slope advantage, in a rare turn of events the Carthaginians finally had some favourable rng and held on while the cavalry joined in battle which was won by the Carthaginians.
Thanks for the game IMC could have gone either way with the foot.
Regards Rex
