Division F
TomoeGozen (Armenian (Tigranes) with Pontic Allies) beat Geoffrey.P.Smith (Lydians with Greek allies) 42-7.
The cataphracts were unstoppable in this one , getting a number of nice pursuit moves on to flanks and carving up the centre whilst the pike held the wings. The Lydians were in the wrong place at the wrong time unfortunately for them.
Thanks to Geoffrey for the game.

Nijis ( Sassanid Persian 350-476 AD) draws Karvon (Roman 24 BC–196 AD with Jewish 64 BC–6 AD allies) 56-41.
The flat field was perfect for cavalry and the Persians closed in, hoping for another Carrhae. At first it looked like they might pull it off, with their arrows taking a fearsome toll. But the disciplined Roman infantry fought back, cornering the horsemen. The Persians were still able to pick off isolated cohorts that got ahead of the rest, though, and night fell before either side broke.

MikeMarchant (Greek Asiatic 550-461 BC) defeated gamercb (Thracian (Getae) 680-330 BC): 42/8
Really bad luck, Colin.
This was the perfect demonstration of how RNG can ruin a game. A victory almost entirely due to luck on my part. There was nothing Colin could do; he couldn't even change the dice or roll them any differently. And yet, not a word of complaint from him - a true gentleman.
Best Wishes
Mike

Division F
kraff (Sassanid Persian 591-628 AD) defeated Thunderbird (Dailami 928-1055 AD with Khorasanian 821-1003 AD allies) 47 - 17
Thank you for the battle, Thunderbird!
Shahanshah Husraw II kept the promise and promoted a new gund-salar, Artafarnah son of Uvakhshatara, hoping he will win another victory and won't lose almost half of the army, unlike his predecessors. It turned out to be a good decision, although in very short term.
The new general thought it reasonable to assume that to prevent higher losses on the battlefield he should take on *four* enemy units at the same time. Incredibly, his bodyguards hold on this onslaught for couple of turns, fighting ferociously and buying precious time for the rest of the army to rout other enemy units. But at some point they realised they can't take any more beating. They stunned their crazed commander, who at this point was fighting completely naked and couldn't be reasoned with, tied him to his horse, broke formation and fled.
Persian troops nearby, for whom their commander seemed to posses divine powers, were shocked by this behaviour of their elite troops, but they didn't waver. Shortly after this incident they routed Khorasanian elephant bodyguard unit, causing a massive rout in the center of the Dailami line. Both Persian wings also gained the upper hand, although on right wing brave Dailamis managed to sneak through an orchard and hit Sasanian elephants from the flank and rout them, which caused multiple disruptions in the ranks of their Dailami brethren fighting on Sasanian side. However, this wasn't enough for the Dailamis to salvage the situation and soon their center collapsed completely.
Popularity of Kusraff II is skyrocketing now. His victories allowed to quiet anyone at home who opposed his military ventures. He started to think he's invincible and infallible. His friends advise him to keep in mind that historically this kind of thinking was downfall to many. Will he listen?

Macedonczyk (Assyrian with Egyptian) defeated Devoncop (Cimmerian with Thracian) 49:21
Flat map. The sea on one side. Horse fights on the other side. I managed to disrupt several units with massed arches, which help me win. But it wasn't easy game.

Macedonczyk (Assyrian with Egyptian) defeated Ulysisgrunt (Cypriot with Greek) 41:5
The Cypriot with all his units on my right wing was moving quickly towards me.
I had my forces set completely different. More than half were on the left side. I sent 3 horses to the right end of the map weakening my right wing even more, but this 3 horses was followed by 1/3 of Cypriot's army. The rest were advancing qucikly to me. I slightly retreated my right wing until there was a skirmish battle which blocked Cypriot's army. At that time my stronger left wing went over to Cypriot from other side.
