Campaign-Carriers not carrying over?
Campaign mode. I fought the Marshall/Gilberts mission where I had 2 carriers. One was lightly damaged (10>8) the other untouched. Ended in Victory with one secondary objective completed (3 of 3 fuel depots). Move on to Coral Sea and I have zero carriers in my deployed force. Had to spend all my purchase points for one carrier and its air complement. Everything I watch on YouTube starts with at least one. Any ideas? I overwhelmingly succeeded in Philippines & Bataan and still got a victory in the Marshalls/Gilbert?
Re: Campaign-Carriers not carrying over?
There's one auxiliary carrier in the Marshalls-Gilbert scn. This one does not carry over, only core forces do.
If you have purchased one or more core carriers already yourself (= core) did you maybe hit the wrong tab in the deployment bar on the left at the start of the next battle? The deployment bar has also filter settings (air, naval, ground) that could prevent you from seeing certain units.
I don't understand your last question about the Phils and Marshalls/Gilbert - of course ideally you aim to win each scn.

Re: Campaign-Carriers not carrying over?
The carrier you bought during the previous mission wouldn't be listed under deployed forces since it's part of your core forces; only units pre-placed into the scenario will already be deployed. You're looking at the wrong tab.
Also, taking any damage to any carrier in the Raid causes the Lexington to not show up to the Coral Sea for several turns (don't ask me how that makes sense given the Lexington isn't in the previous mission), so you wouldn't get that to start either.

Re: Campaign-Carriers not carrying over?
UPDATE: Thanks for the advice--I admit I don't have a complete grasp of the mechanics of handling forces yet. The good news is on about turn 5 or 6 another Carrier came on scene in the far southeast of the map like you said. Once he got in the fight I was able to "scratch one flat-top" as the graphic said and I played rope-a-dope the rest of the time. Damn near lost Port Moseby but a B-17 showed up to reinforce and I emergency purchased a couple Destroyers to run out the clock. Thanks again. I'll keep your responses in mind moving forward. Oh, and I went through the briefing for Midway and they gave me 3 Carriers from the jump!
