Re: Chaos Tourney III
Division 1
Macedonczyk(Irish 900) beat Cunningcairn(Ptolemaic 166BC) 41:4
I thought I did stupid maneuvers at the beginning of this game: When I saw the enemy's position I decided to swap the left wing with the right one and in the meantime I moved the skirmish away from the rest of the troops to fight the enemy skirmish. I lost a lot of skirmish this way, but some of the enemy heavy units went too far and I managed to eliminate them. And many my skirmishes back to game with rally.

Division 1
vvanttin (Vikings 790) beat Challenge1 (Dailami) 41-0
The smaller veteran Dailami army suffered from command confusion during maneuver phase, and after this some good luck and some good generalship allowed the Vikings to defeat them with light losses.

Here's another update....
Looks like we've got 4 or 5 games yet to report for Div 1 and just 1 for Div 2.

Division 1
Macedonczyk (Elamite 815BC) beat Challenge1(Arab North Africa 789AD) 52:24
A favorable map (some hills and irrigation) helped stop the Arabian attacks.
Most of the points were scored by my archers and the opponent scored mostly in the attack of light horses and lancers which massacred my chariots and then fell under fire of archers from irrigations and surviving chariots.

Re: Chaos Tourney III
Division 1
Macedonczyk(Carthaginian 262BC) beat Nosy Rat(Greek 680BC) 62:41
Favourable terrain: a large hill on my side with a slope almost like a front line and a river by the hill itself. I could put all the units on the hill and I could also block the river crossing.
Because my army seemed weaker and had to fight a very famous general, I decided to defend these hills. Nosy Rat took up the challenge of attacking (although if we had changed roles I probably wouldn't have done it myself) and almost succeeded. My HF in the middle after a long fight broke down, additionally I made a mistake not foreseeing the possibility of a flank attack by one of the units (I thought another one was blocking him). Luckily I had a lot of lead on my wings at that time (which I owe a lot to LH attacking from behind) and Greek HFs in centre were already heavily exhausted and attacked by LF and artillery.

Division 1
vvanttin (Scots) beat Karvon (Tigranes) 61-39
The designs of evil Tigranes upon the Scottish freedoms were once again thwarted, and the Tree of Liberty was amply watered. Have a whiskey for the memory of all the Scots who perished at that damned swamp!

Re: Chaos Tourney III
Sorry for delay in recent update, my uni has just resumed face-to-face classes this past week and it's been a bit hectic.
Here are the current leader boards.
Div 2 has wrapped up all it's games and Mairtin finishes with the gold medal with 22 pts just edging out Aetius39, who gets the silver with 21 pts. General Shapur gets the bronze with 18 pts. Congrat's to the winners, and to the rest of the field for participating and finishing up in record time.
Div 1 still has two games with results unreported:
vvanttin Rhoxolani 350BC Macedonczyk Spanish 900AD
Cunningcairn Arab 312BC Challenge1 Spartan 461BC
We have five days till the deadline, so hopefully, we will get this wrapped up by them.
Regards,
Karvon the Chaotic

Re: Chaos Tourney III
Division 1
Macedonczyk (Spanish 900AD) beats VVanttin (Rhoxolani 350BC) 59:25
Terrified Spaniards, by some miracle, defeated the Rhoxolani.
Stages of battle:
1. A panicky escape to the corner of the map.
2. Not very effective attack by the Spanish skirmishes.
3. Very effective attack of Rhoxolani skirmshes with the help of horse arches.
4. An attempt to save the remains of the skirmishes by 2 shieldwalls which ended in their liquidation
After that, I thought I lost the battle but:
5. Unlucky attacks by Rhoxolani on my units in the forest.
6. Lucky attacks with all my lancers from my left wing.

Re: Chaos Tourney III
Ok, here are the final standings for Chaos Tourney III.
Macedonczyk swept the field in Div 1 with six straight wins (24 pts) to capture the gold. vvanttin took the silver with five victories (20 pts) and SnuggleBunnies got the bronze with three wins (12 pts), edging Nosy_Rat by the virtue of defeating him in their match.
In Div 2, Mairtin brought home the gold with five wins (22 pts) narrowly beating out Aetius39 with four victories (21 pts). General Shapur won the bronze with three wins (18 pts).
Thanks to everyone who joined in the mayhem. Hope you will consider signing up for Chaos Tourney IV when DL8 wraps up. I will be posting cumulative standings a bit later; I need to rebuild my database, as I lost my records when my notebook died last week.

Thanks for organization the tournament.
I played some interesting armies (and against interesting ones) which I probably wouldn't have known otherwise.

Re: Chaos Tourney III
Thanks for organising the tournament. It is an enjoyable way to play armies not normally considered.

I'm playing around with an ELO ranking program, so here are the final rankings at the end of season 3.
